Wedding Party

Sinead Knapton

Maid of Honor

Aisling's wee sister, we have been by each other's side everywhere from Scotland to Egypt to London and, of course, our wedding day would be no different. We have shared a lifetime of memories together and cannot wait to make some truly special ones together at the wedding. With her unmatched energy and love of a good celebration, you will almost certainly find her at the centre of the party, but please know, that Sinead is a "happy crier" so make sure she has tissues at the ready!

Nicola Halliday

Bridesmaid

Nicola and Aisling met in 2020, after becoming "trauma bonded" at a work event, proving that work is the perfect place to find your lifelong bestie. Despite never managing to live in the same country as each other, we have made up for it with some of the most amazing holidays together and Nicola even helped James plan Aisling's proposal - there was never any doubt she'd be standing by Aisling's side for the big day.

India Gill

Bridesmaid

Having met at school in 2006, India and Aisling have been best friends for 20 years, and are lucky enough to have had each other through each chapter of their lives. From the awkward teenage years to our 30s, our friendship has never wavered - it only made sense that India was by Aisling's side as she stepped into this next chapter!

Jack Smith

Best Man

Having known each other for 20 years, James and Jack have been best mates since their school days. From being the class clowns to spending many a night at the pub together - most of which have ended with them both in questionable states singing at the top of their lungs (if you are (un)lucky, they may be convinced to sing a duet at our wedding) - Jack has been a great friend throughout it was never a question that he would be Best Man at our wedding.

Luke Dietrich-Coke

Groomsman

Luke and James met in 2015 through a mutual friend (thanks Jack!) and became great friends after a boys trip to Mexico - if you ever catch the two of them together, be prepared for a lot of side-eye looks followed by laughter (don't worry, the rest of us don't understand it either). Luke was the first friend that James introduced Aisling to, so of course, he had to be standing with us on our wedding day!

Ross Hunter

Groomsman

Another Cooper's School survivor, poor Ross has had to put up with Jack and James' antics for 20 years...a saint in anyone's eyes. From school days to adulthood, Ross has always been a great friend - there is no better way to describe Ross, than he's just "Ross" and we wouldn't have him any other way! Top Tip: Under no circumstances, should you try and outdrink Ross, this has scuppered the boys on many occassions!

Aine and Philip Knapton

Mother & Father of the Bride

Aine and Philip have always been there for Aisling and James, offering constant support through every stage of their relationship. From the very beginning, they welcomed James into the Knapton family with open arms. Philip, in particular, was overjoyed to finally have another “man” in the house after years of being happily overrun by girls! Over the years, we have been so lucky to share countless special moments together - whether visiting them in Abu Dhabi, Ireland, or Scotland, each trip filled with lots of laughter. We feel incredibly fortunate to have them by our side and to share our lives with them.

Mel and Bob Covington

Mother & Father of the Groom

Mel and Bob have been an amazing support to James and Aisling over the course of their relationship and were even kind enough to let them live in James' childhood bedroom whilst they saved up for a house (bonus, Aisling's tolerance to spicy food has skyrocketed thanks to Mel's cooking!). They are always there when we need them, whether that be babysitting their first "grandchild" (sadly not human), laying floorboards, gardening or cutting Aisling out of her legal ceremony dress (thanks Bob!). We are extremely grateful to have them in our lives!

Paddy Knapington

Best Dog

Are we typical millennials that treat our dog like our child...yes we are! Paddy is chaotic, bouncy and very rarely well-behaved but he doesn't have a bad bone in his body and has brought so much joy and laughter to our lives. For the sake of all our guests' outfits, we thought best that Paddy sit this one out - but he will be very much there in spirit!
