One of the prettiest high streets in the Cotswolds, we love Bakery on the Hill for breakfast or stop off at one of the many pubs for a drink. For any Jeremy Clarkson fans, his infamous pub "The Farmer's Dog" is a 7 minutes drive from Burford and a great place to grab a bite to eat and a drink.
A small and charming village - walk the Bibury Loop and go to The Swan for a bite to eat and a drink. Make sure to check out the famous chocolate box houses on Arlington Row.
Go to The Porch (the oldest pub in England) and for any Lord of the Rings fans, go to St Edward's Church to see the "Tolkein Door". In our opinion, Stow-on-the-Wold is the best place for shopping and has loads of independent shops. Top Tip: Maps will try and make you park in the centre, you will struggle to find a space (especially in the height of summer!) - instead go to the Tesco Superstore (located in Stow-on-the-Wold), where they have dedicated parking for people visiting the village, it is free and only a short 10 minute walk from the village.
We recommend starting at Upper Slaughter, a quiet village but a lovely place for a walk - you can take the countryside path through the field and down by the river, passing the Old Water Mill and finishing your walk at The Slaughters Country Inn, sit outside and enjoy a drink whilst overlooking the river that runs through the Lower Slaughter.
Known as the "Venice of the Cotswolds", grab a coffee and pastry at Bakery on the Water, take a stroll along the River Windrush and and cross over the many little stone bridges.
Have a wander along the high street which has loads of quaint shops and cafes and walk / drive to Broadway Tower (the second highest point in the Cotswolds) for stunning views and there is a cafe at the top which is lovely for a coffee and a small bite to eat.
