We are tremendously blessed to have so many loved ones with children whom we love. That being said, we have decided to keep it an adults-only event. We appreciate your understanding.
A shuttle will be arranged that will pick up people from the hotel block and bring them to the reception and then back at the end of the night. For this reason we recommend staying at the hotel block if you want to use this service. More information to come.
The dreaded parking! We have worked hard to select a church and venue that have parking lots (a hot commodity in the DMV). That being said, we want you to be able to easily access these lots. Please view instructions below. If you prefer not to drive yourself, we recommend you use a ride share app to travel to the church from your hotel. If you stay at our recommended hotel, you will be able to easily access our reception from the Metro. Both the hotel and our reception are short walks from the Metro Red Line.
The Basilica has three separate parking lots, all within a short walk of the church. Please use your GPS to locate them: 1. 325 S Royal Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 2. 308 S Pitt Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 3. 309 S Fairfax Street, Alexandria, Virginia 22314 We will likely fill up these lots, so if you arrive and there are no spots (or you are familiar with the area and can leave the spots for out-of-town guests) you may have to park on the street. There is always ample street parking, some of which are metered. Just read the parking signs carefully.
The parking for our venue is located within Catholic University's campus. It is a short walk to the venue from the lot. 3721 Divinity Way NE Washington, DC 20064 You may see signs to pay for the parking - we have taken care of this with the parking office in advance. Please let us know if any issues arise - it will not be a burden to help resolve them.
The dress code is formal attire. We ask women to consider dressing modestly for the church (dresses at or below the knee and shoulders covered). Shaws can be removed for the rest of the day, if desired.
Our nupital Mass will be inside the church. At the reception venue, cocktail hour will be outside (weather permitting) while the dinner and dancing will be inside.
