Best Woman
Heather is Kevin's Best Woman and Best Friend. They met several years ago, working for the same company. Heather and her husband James are originally from Iowa, but live in West Denver with their dog and cat. Kevin can be rather shy, and Heather, who is the exact opposite, supported Kevin in his quest to purchase a home and also encouraged him to get out and meet people. If it weren't for her, Kevin never would have met Jackie. Kevin is pleased to have Heather stand beside him on this special day.
Man of Honor
Jackie met Dave her freshman year of college at University of Hawaii, working for Ditto's (a branch of Kinko's, now Fed Ex Office). Through the years, while living miles apart, they have always kept in touch. Distance has never been an issue in their friendship. Dave has always been a rock for Jackie, providing guidance, advice, support, and unconditional love. His giving demeanor, generosity and easy-going nature, have made an impact on Jackie in more ways than one. Jackie is so blessed to have him stand up beside her on this special day.
Mother of the Bride
Elizabeth was born in China and immigrated to the U.S. as a young woman. She has traveled extensively all over the world, including France, where she learned to drive and speak French in addition to Mandarin, English and Japanese. While working at Coco's in Honolulu, she met Jackie's Dad and together, they continued on their travels around the U.S. before settling back in Hawaii. It has always been her dream to see her daughter married. She loves fashion, animals and warm weather. Jackie got her fierce independence from Elizabeth, as well as her candor.
Father of the Bride
George, the eldest child of four, was born in Atlanta, GA. After graduating high school, he was eager to leave the south, and joined the Navy, which took him to many tropical places. After serving, he attended the University of Hawaii at Manoa, and later met Elizabeth. They sold their Corvette and Thunderbird to buy wedding rings and had a small ceremony with only a justice of the peace in Honolulu. After traveling extensively, including Turkey and Iran, they settled back in Hawaii. George's interests include reading, puzzles, and card games. The Bonds are known for their competitive Hearts games. George also has a wicked sense of humor. From a very young age, Jackie has always had a special bond with her father.
Officiant
Jackie knew she wanted a special someone to officiate their wedding-and that person is Marcus, who she has known for over 30 years. They have been camping and hiking buddies for a very long time in Oregon, Washington State, Hawaii and now enjoy occasional ski days in Colorado. Marcus is one of Jackie's dearest and oldest friends, who himself has been married for over 23 years. There is no one else the couple would rather have speak and officiate for them at their ceremony. Marcus was extremely touched to be asked this special honor, and was very excited to become ordained as a pastor.
Honorary Bridesmaid
Renea is one of the first friends Jackie made when she moved to Colorado. Her steady, never wavering support has carried Jackie through laughter and tears. The two have been on countless hikes together, gone rafting, camping, biking in Moab, traveled to Hawaii, and Mexico together, and been each other's gym partner. Jackie is thankful to count Renea as one of her best friends.
Honorary Bridesmaid
Jen has been one of Jackie's most steadfast friends in Denver over the years. Jen always made sure Jackie was never alone at any holiday and made her feel like part of Jen's Ohana-it must be that Hawaii connection. Jen has been there for Jackie in many ways over the years, with her generous nature, bright smile and kind heart. A huge shout out to Jen for helping Renea plan Jackie's bridal shower and for being a true friend and sistah!
