Black Butte Hike
This 4-mile roundtrip hike takes you to the summit of Black Butte, an extinct stratovolcano and the namesake of Black Butte Ranch. The steep climb is worth it for sweeping views of Mount Washington, Mount Jefferson, Broken Top, Three-Fingered Jack, and Mount Hood.
Koosah and Sahalie Falls Trail
View roaring Sahalie Falls from the viewpoint just off of the parking lot or venture out on a 2.4-mile loop trail along the wild McKenzie River to visit both waterfalls. Be prepared for damp trails and mist. A favorite scenic spot of ours.
Suttle Lake
Park at the day-use area near The Suttle Lodge to hike or run the 3.5-mile trail that circumnavigates the lake. We recommend bringing a picnic to enjoy by the water or taking a dip in the lake if the weather is nice!
Smith Rock State Park
This gorgeous park is famous for its deep river canyons, miles of hiking trails, and rock climbing. We recommend hiking the aptly named "Misery Ridge Trail" for some spectacular views.
Deschutes River Trail
Looking for a walk in town? Take the Deschutes River Trail! Want to enjoy some peace and quiet in the wilderness? Also take the Deschutes River Trail! This lovely trail is a favorite run spot of ours and has many access points. It's a great paved path in Bend, or if you get on the dirt portion farther west up Century Drive, it's perfect for a hike or trail run with iconic Central Oregon views.
Camp Sherman Store & Fly Shop
Park at the Camp Sherman Store to access the West Metolius River Trail. We recommend walking to the Headwaters of the Metolius River where we got engaged and picking up delicious deli sandwiches at the store for lunch.
High Camp Taphouse
Sisters, Oregon is home to cozy restaurants, a charming movie house, and sweeping views of its namesake mountains. Our favorite dinner spot in town is High Camp Taphouse, serving delicious Himalayan cuisine and local craft beers and ciders. Founded by Nurbu and Pema Sherpa, a portion of their business profits goes towards helping marginalized populations in Nepal access education. We recommend the Momo and Chau Chau!
Crux Fermentation Project
Enjoy a cool drink from Crux, which has 20+ beers on tap, including non-alcoholic options. One of Jack's favorites is Gimme Mo IPA. The outdoor yard often has food trucks too!

Another favorite spot in Sisters serving soft serve as big as your head since 1952.
