We met like most millennial couples meet nowadays - we both swiped right on each other and matched on Tinder in July 2020. COVID was still rampant when we met and when things started opening up and Ivette and Reynald decided to meet for coffee one summer evening in August (even though Reynald doesn't drink coffee). On our second date we played 'We're Not Really Strangers,' a card game containing deep questions like "What would you name this chapter of your life?" "What's the most pain you've ever been in that wasn't physical?" "What goal have you given up on?". We played this game for hours and got to know each other on a deep level just weeks into meeting each other. Although we've been in each other's live for less than 3 years, it feels like we've known each other a lot longer, mostly thanks to the COVID lockdowns where we'd spend days with just each other, which wouldn't have happened pre-pandemic. Meeting your spouse in your 30's is interesting. You've had a whole life before each other, and in our case, another marriage. But the level of understanding and commitment we have is indescribable. Both our lives led us to this moment, and we couldn't be happier and are so excited to celebrate our love with our closest friends and family.
