Blaze Beach: This is not the most ideal beach for swimming, but definitely the best place to sunbathe and watch the water crash against the rocks. There is a super cool bar on the cliff so that you can enjoy a drink with magnificent views just outside one of the city walls.
A favorite beach for lounging on the sand or swimming in with a view of Lokrum Island. We recommend you arrive early as it does get pretty crowded, but there is also Banje Beach Club, which serves lunch and drinks.
This is one of the rare, sandy beaches in Croatia on the island of Lopud. Great, cheap day trip to get away and soak up the sun. The island town is very lovely as well with fantastic restaurants and a quieter atmosphere. The boats leave from the port (10 minutes by bus or cab) via Jadrolinija company or other private operators. Bring your own umbrella, towels, and lots of sunscreen!
Go early as it gets hot up on the walls! A great way to see the old town and the surrounding area from a different viewpoint. You can also go later on in the afternoon to catch the sunset.
This island is a 15 minute boat/ferry ride from the Old Town Dubrovnik Marina and round trip tickets are around 5 Euros (as of August 2021). Tickets are available through various vendors in front of the marina. This island has a botanical garden and monastery where they filmed some of Game of Thrones (which you will be able to see and read about while on the island). There are also friendly wild peacocks that roam around the island and a lot of nature to see. You can also sunbathe on the rocks on the far end of the island and jump off to swim in the beautiful crisp ocean. You should also bring your swim trunks as there are great swimming and sunbathing spots on the island.
Take a cable care up at the north end of the old town for spectacular panorama views for miles all around (best around sunset!). There is also a highly rated Panorama restaurant up at the top but you need to make reservations far in advance to eat there.
This is a gorgeous arboretum located above the sea that was used as film locations for Game of Thrones and Vikings Valhalla. A bit out from town so taking a taxi or Uber is a must.
Another way to see the old town and surrounding area from a different viewpoint. Depending on who you do it with they also take you to Lokrum and a hidden beach cove.
If you are looking for some of the best Croatian/Bosnian cuisine and meat dishes without breaking the bank, this place is fantastic. Highly recommend getting the Cevapi (minced meat sausages) with ajvar (bell pepper spread) and kajmak (cheese).
Michelin star dining on the walls of old town Dubrovnik overlooking the marina. It does not get any better than this. Fantastic restaurant with a fantastic tasting menu.
This is more of a fast casual place to eat at with delicious, super fresh seafood. They also have a fried octopus burger which is a must try.
Fine dining by the ocean with both the old town and Lovrijenac in your view. Highly rated restaurant and romantic.
Rooftop dining in the old town! Seafood fine dining in a very romantic atmosphere. Limited seating on the rooftop so you will have to book early. They also have indoor dining.
Our favorite gelato spot.
Great food overlooking the marina in the old town. Also a great spot to hangout for coffee and drinks during the day.
