FAQs

If you have any other questions other than those answered below, please feel free to reach out to our wedding planner, Ines Nanic at Dubrovnik Event via email at info@dubrovnikevent.com or any questions about Dubrovnik, please contact Ivan at (949) 701-9715.
Question

Transportation after the wedding

Answer

Right across the street from the wedding venue, there is a taxi stand which is the most popular and busy taxi stand in Dubrovnik, with taxis available as late as 5 a.m. so please head there to take a taxi back to your hotel or airbnb. I promise you cannot miss the taxi stand. Most taxis take credit card but please confirm with a driver before you take the ride and please have some euros with you in case it will take a while to find a taxi that takes card.

Question

Do I have to worry about a language barrier?

Answer

Hardly a concern! 95% of locals (at least at the airport/taxis and in the old town) speak English!

Question

Should I travel with cash? Euro currency?

Answer

A majority of all vendors and restaurants accept credit or debit cards but it is always good to have some euros in case you want to purchase from small local vendors or want to take a taxi that doesn't accept card. It is best to carry at least a minimum of 50 euros.

Question

Do I need to be vaccinated or take a COVID-19 test prior to entering Croatia or prior to my return to the United States?

Answer

As of 12/27/22, our review of the below sites indicate that you are not required to be vaccinated nor are you required to have a negative COVID-19 test result to enter Croatia or return to the United States. However, please make sure to constantly check with Croatia's and your country's travel restrictions and COVID-19 requirements. https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/traveladvisories/traveladvisories/croatia-travel-advisory.html https://hr.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/ https://visitcroatia.com/tasteful-croatian-journeys-and-covid-19/

Question

What can we expect the weather to be like in June?

Answer

Weather in Dubrovnik in June ranges between 75 degrees (Fahrenheit) and 80 degrees at the high, and 68 degrees at the low. Dubrovnik only experiences about 4 days of rain in June (crossing fingers!). You can expect some humidity as well so be prepared!

Question

For the ladies: footwear?

Answer

The old town of Dubrovnik is mostly cobblestone so keep this in mind if you are walking to the wedding venue, but the cobblestones are thick so you would be more than fine wearing thick heels. At the wedding venue, the ground is completely flat so you will have no issues wearing any kind of heel, thick or thin. For reference, Alex has personally worn a thin tall heel and walked through the cobblestones of the old town before and did just fine as well so please consider what you are going to be more comfortable in. Please note that when you arrive at the wedding venue, you will need to walk up approximately 150 small steps to make it to the entrance. These are very small and short and easy to walk in heels, however a hostess will greet you at the bottom of the steps offering flats for any ladies who would like to switch into them just to walk up the stairs and then switch back into their heels once they make it to the venue.

Question

For the ladies: hair, makeup?

Answer

For any ladies who would like to have their hair or makeup done before the wedding, please feel free to look up salons on trip advisor. A popular salon in Dubrovnik is Studio Marcela, located at the Rixos Hotel. Alex has also personally had her hair done before at a salon right near the fortress called Beauty Line, located at Ul. Brantielka Dubrovnika 1, 2000, Dubrovnik Croatia, phone number +38520423081. She had nothing but a wonderful experience there with hairstylist Marina Zhyvchenko, who also provides makeup services (Alex has not had her makeup done by Marina and cannot speak as to quality). Her instagram page is best_brow_academys. If you would like additional recommendations for salons, please reach out to Alex directly so that she can have their wedding planner provide further suggestions.
