Question

Attire

Answer

Wedding casual! Think nicer sundress or slacks with a button-down shirt. After all, this is a daytime wedding on a ranch in Idaho! But bring a jacket, it can get cold in the evening! Ladies, I highly recommend wearing flats or low heels as the ground is all grass and gravel.

Question

Getting to the Ranch

Answer

Due to the remote location of (and sketchy drive to...) the Ranch, we have some shuttles lined up to take you there! Meet at Sun Valley Main Parking lot at 2 on Saturday for a prompt 2:15 departure. At the end of the night, the shuttles will take you from the Ranch back to your car in town. If you plan to arrive late, depart early, leave for a fire, or otherwise want to drive yourself, please allow about 1 hour of travel time, drive slowly, and have a spare tire.

Question

COVID-19?

Answer

Both the ceremony and reception will be held outdoors. We ask that guests wear a mask if they enter indoor common spaces (ie the Lodge). About 95% of our guests are vaccinated, and we have requested that everyone not vaccinated get tested 1-2 days prior to the wedding. Contact us if you need help finding a testing location nearby! Stay tuned for updates.

Question

9/11 Wedding?

Answer

A question has come up a couple times regarding selection of Sept 11th as our wedding date, so we thought a little background would help shed light. We were set on a wedding this year at Wild Horse Creek Ranch, and the only available options were mid-August and the Sept 10-12 weekend. We chose the latter date to move further down the vaccination path, to move away from peak season in the Wood River Valley, and give Isaac’s Canadian family the greatest chance at attending with COVID border restrictions then in place. And there we go, Saturday the 11th it is. With that in mind, we will always remember the civilian and first responder lives that were lost on that date, but want to also recognize that perhaps an excellent way to honor the date is to create new memories that weekend with you, our friends and family. We look forward to seeing you all!

Question

Staying at the Ranch

Answer

If you're staying at the ranch overnight, (or even if you aren't) there are a few things worth knowing before you go: 1) There is NO cellphone reception. And there is little/no WiFi availability, so plan accordingly! Download whatever maps you might need beforehand, and get any work you need done squared away. There IS a landline at the ranch, and driving to reception is inconvenient but not impossible. 2) There ARE facilities at the ranch. Electricity, running water, etc. This is glamping at its core, so don't worry about bringing the jetboil! 3) IF you are staying at a room at the ranch (we'll let you know) bedding is provided, so you don't need to pack a sleeping bag. IF you are staying in the tipis at the ranch (looking at you CP Tri folks) you will need to bring sleeping bags and pads. You will have access to the ranch facilities for cooking, bathrooms, etc, so still no need to pack too much.
