Jenae and I met in physical therapy school. I remember orientation like it was yesterday. Our class was split into small groups for super awkward icebreakers. Of course they had us introduce ourselves and say where we were from. When I found out Jenae was from Minnesota, I thought to myself, "I have to become friends with this girl." She didn't talk to me for a semester after that icebreaker....Since then we have bonded over our love for the Packers, adventures, dancing, and of course donuts! Jenae calls me her "adoptive mother" and she has taken well to Tim. I can't wait for us to become one happy family!
Best Man
Wes is my older brother, and was even responsible for naming me. Although my parents went with his second choice (the first being Meatballhead), he's proved himself as someone I can always talk to when looking for advice, referencing the Simpsons, or prognosticating the upcoming Marquette basketball season. He's certainly someone I look up to, and am thrilled he's agreed to be my best man!
Bridesman
Ben is my baby brother. Well kind of, as he is 7 inches taller than me. Ben and I have the traditional sibling love-hate relationship. The day Ben came home from the hospital I wanted nothing to do with him. But after 3 days of having him home we were inseparable. Ben has my back through thick and thin, whether it's offering to beat up highschool ex-boyfriends or making me laugh during the stresses of wedding planning and other major life events. Ben and I enjoy exploring the craft beer scene with our dad and spending time together when we are all home for the holidays. I am lucky and blessed to have Ben as my "Bridesman" and cannot picture my wedding day without him!
Groomsman
Drew and I met in elementary school and have been tightly-knit ever since. We've shared lots of laughs and memorable times, from our year together at Marquette, to a whirlwind tour of Europe after a semester abroad, to adventures on Madison's bike paths and disc golf courses. Although we no longer live in the same city, we have managed to stay great friends. He's a chum in the truest sense of the word, and I'm excited he's going to be there to help Abby and I celebrate.
Bridesmaid
Stephanie is my future sister-in-law! I can't wait! I remember the first time I met Stephanie was at a Brewer's game. Although I had already met Tim's parents and his brother, I was nervous to meet Stephanie because I knew I wanted to have a relationship with her outside of Wes and Tim. Well that happened and I couldn't be happier! We have a blast at family gatherings and manage to schedule a coffee date when I am in Madison. I can't wait for more family gatherings, dinners and coffee dates!
Groomsman
Konnor and I have been friends since we were little, and not much has changed. We may not see each other quite as often as we used to, but we still enjoy reminiscing about all the good times we've had together in Madison, Milwaukee and Chicago. Whether going to see Robert Randolph and the Family Band in Milwaukee, or exchanging trash talk about this year's Marquette/Wisconsin basketball game, we love to hash it up. Couldn't imagine getting married without Konnor being a part of the festivities.
Bridesmaid
Khushboo (aka KB, aka Khush) and I met in PT school through Jenae. For the longest time I couldn't spell her name correctly so I defaulted to calling her KB. I have loved getting to know KB over the last 2.5 years! She is always up for an adventure, and she makes me laugh every time I am with her. I am so lucky and blessed to have her as one of my bridesmaids and I cannot wait to see how our friendship continues to grow!
Groomsman
Sam and Tim have also been friends for over 20 years. One notable exchange happened in first grade. I stole Sam's backpack, Sam threatened to bite me if I didn't give it back, I didn't give it back, so he bit me. Friendship in its truest sense. We lived together for about two years while I started my teaching career and Sam was applying to medical school, which only deepened our bond. We have a unique, mutually deprecating sense of humor that I particularly enjoy. Same is definitely someone who I value as a friend, and I'm excited he's here to celebrate with us.
Usher
I remember the first time I ever saw Nate--it was in first grade, and I thought he was a huge nerd. Well, it turns out he just had huge glasses and major bowl cut. Somehow, we managed to become close friends. Nate eventually invited me to join his indoor soccer team, The Soccer Dudes, which cemented our friendship. Nate and I have been great friends ever since, through high school and college. We lived together for a year before I moved to Florida, and enjoyed pranking each other, getting lost down YouTube rabbit holes, and talking NBA. Nate's a great friend, and he's sure to be a great Usher as well.
Usher
Kyle, AKA "Mert," has also been a friend for a long time. I met him through sports at first, but once we started high school we grew even closer. True, some of my other friends and I played the occasional prank on Kyle, but it was always out of love. I spent countless hours and drank an obscene amount of soda in Kyle's basement in high school. I also lived with Kyle for a year before moving to Florida (along with Nate as well), and it was a blast. Since Kyle teaches kindergarten, he could empathize with the unique challenges of being a teacher and share some "war stories" from his classroom as well. He's been a great friend for a long time and I'm happy he's here with us.
