IMPORTANT!!! PLEASE READ!!

On our wedding day, the badger football game is scheduled to start at 11:00am, which means the game will be ending around 2:00. With our ceremony starting promptly at 3:00pm, we ask that you ensure adequate time for travel and parking. Traffic will be bad, and certain roads may be closed. We recommend adding at least an extra 15-20 minutes, if not double the expected time, to travel to the Edgewater in normal traffic. If you arrive early please feel free to explore the hotel as it has beautiful views of Lake Mendota. There is also a restaurant/bar in the hotel. We contacted the Edgewater regarding parking and they informed us there will be parking available on game day for wedding guests. (details for parking rates can be found in the "Travel" tab). For those of you planning to utilize a hotel shuttle, please consider a back up option because there is a chance the shuttles will be full of badger fans coming from the stadium. If you have any questions or concerns, please email: immerdorferwedding@gmail.com

Our Story

Love and Ultimate Frisbee

Tim and Abby met, as many couples do, through an ultimate frisbee team started by mutual friends. It was summer 2012: Tim was in grad school in Madison, and Abby was home for the Summer before her junior year at Michigan State. One night during the frisbee season, Tim was attending a Big K.R.I.T. concert in Madison (yes, you read that correctly), and Abby was visiting friends at Penn State. While at the concert, Tim received a cryptic text message from an unknown number. Confused by this text, Tim later realized it was Abby, and the two started their connection. Abby went back to school that Fall, and Tim, having gone through long-distance relationships in the past, tried to break it off. Soon, Abby found out that her Grandma was slowly starting to pass away. Abby’s mom suggested she come home a few times during the fall to say goodbye. She came home twice that fall semester and both times asked Tim if he wanted to get together. Tim would agree up until the day Abby arrived, and would then “have other plans.” The weekend of Abby’s 21st birthday also happened to be the weekend of Grandma’s funeral. This time, Abby decided to not contact Tim. After the funeral, Abby was studying at home when some frisbee friends asked if they could take her out to celebrate her birthday. Abby showed up at their house, and to her surprise, Tim was there! That evening, they reconnected. Even as Tim spent 9 weeks in Mexico student teaching the ensuing January, they still managed to keep in touch. The two ended up skyping almost every night while he was abroad. The following Summer (2013), the couple continued playing ultimate frisbee, dating, and enjoying their time together. By the time Abby was headed back to school for her senior year, Tim had a job as a middle school teacher, and the two made the it work, even long-distance. Now, some six years later, they have enjoyed numerous adventures together, and cannot wait for what the future holds.
