The drive from Johannesburg to Underberg is about 6 to 7 hours. You will use the N3 which is quite busy but well-maintained. Please look out for potholes once you have turned onto the R617 Howick/Underberg Road. We recommend using the Waze App to assist you with the location of the potholes, most of them are well-reported.

Flight

King Shaka International Airport

This is the bigger of the two airports and offers more flights. The venue is approximately a 3-hour drive away so you would need to rent a car. The roads are reasonably well maintained with no dirt roads leading to the venue.

Pietermaritzburg Airport

This is the less popular airport however, it is closer to the venue. The venue is approximately 2-hours away, so you would need to rent a car. The roads are reasonably well maintained with no dirt roads leading to the venue.

Travel Note

Travel on the Wedding Day

Please remember that there are no Uber rides or taxis in the area. If you are staying offsite, you will need to use your car to travel. Some of the accommodation in the area has dirt roads, so keep this in mind when booking.
