We went here while looking for wedding venues. It's a beautiful location but could not hold how many people we hoped would be able to come. This beautiful lake is also home to some amazing history. You can book a guide to see the Burgess Shale, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, which is home to 508 million-year-old fossils of some of the earliest multicellular life forms on earth!
Catch an early morning shuttle from the parking lot at Lake Louise parking area to avoid the crowds that are sure to come later in the day. You can enjoy both Lake Moraine and Lake Louise and grab lunch at the Fairmont Chateau Lake Louise. Buy a ticket for the shuttle at this website (https://parks.canada.ca/pn-np/ab/banff/visit/parkbus/louise). It is the least expensive shuttle in the area. Note the road to Lake Moraine is closed to personal transportation, but you can rent a bike to get there if you'd like.
Visit the second-tallest waterfall in Canada, measuring 1,224 feet. This one is really easy to get to, just a couple hundred-yard walk from the parking lot! Home to the Red Chairs - there are 200 red Adirondack chairs placed throughout Canada's most unique and treasured places. There are 11 sets of these chairs in Banff National Park as well if you want to try and catch a photo with them all!
For those who don't mind a beautiful drive through the mountains and would like to eat at the highest restaurant in Canada: the Eagles Nest. This resort is also home to the longest downhill mountain biking park in North America. Rent a bike there, take a gondola to the top, and don't break something before the wedding (Dan is banned from this experience until after the wedding.)
