Thank you for your RSVP! If you need to change/update anything from this point forward, please reach out to the bride or groom directly. All guest numbers and names have been sent to our venue at this point. As a reminder, the "Can't Make Canada" event is more casual- we have captured your initial RSVPs here, but will be sending a paper invite shortly where you will have the opportunity to update your details. Thank you!
Yes. While it will not yet be peak tourist season, note that Banff, Jasper, Emerald Lake, Lake Louise, and other popular destinations will be busy as Canada Day is the same weekend as our wedding (Monday, July 1, 2024.) Please book your lodging and your rental car well in advance- we expect prices to increase and availability to become more limited as our big day gets closer. Additionally, The Calgary Stampede will be going on from July 5-July 14, 2024. If you're interested, check out this website for more details and ticket information: https://www.calgarystampede.com/stampede.
Yes! There are multiple parking lots located at the Silvertip resort.
The ceremony will begin at 1:30 pm. Please arrive between 1:00 pm-1:15 pm.
We will have a cocktail shuttle to take guests to cocktail hour. The shuttle is scheduled to run continuously to our reception space from 4:40pm through 5:45pm and will stop to pick up guests at 2 locations: the Grande Rockies Resort (downtown access) and the MTN House by Basecamp hotel. More details on the shuttle schedule are in the "Schedule" page under Cocktail Hour. We have also arranged for a bus to transport our guests from the reception back to our guests' hotel / house rentals (within Canmore city limits.) The bus will run between 8:30pm - 11:30pm.
This is a (mostly) adults-only wedding. The only children you will see at our wedding are our nieces and nephews. Thank you for your understanding.
We completely understand not all of our friends and family will be able to celebrate with us in Canmore. For that reason, we have booked a private room for Saturday, July 20 at Noble Smoke in Charlotte, NC. See the Schedule page for more detail!
We hope you do make a family vacation out of our wedding! We picked this date because (1) the lakes will have defrosted by this time; (2) the hiking trails will be snow-free; (3) a holiday weekend follows; (4) it will be busy, but will not be peak tourist season. A few couples we have talked to that have young ones are considering bringing their parents or in-laws along on the trip to babysit their children on Saturday. Alternatively, there are a few different websites that have Canmore-area babysitting that you can check out: - Birdie (https://www.birdiebreak.com/banff-and-canmore-babysitters) - Canadian Nanny (https://canadiannanny.ca/nannies/canada/babysitter) - Professional Hotel Babysitting (https://childcarebanff.com/)
We're so glad you want to make this a family trip. Kindly note that even though Canada is our friendly northern neighbor, it is a different country, meaning you will need a valid passport for each person you are traveling with - no matter how young they are. You can explore more information here (https://help.cbp.gov/s/article/Article-724?language=en_US). Be keenly aware of the words used in this and other websites to guide you properly.
