While many stories in today's world start with a swipe ours started "IRL" (In Real Life). Looking back on it, it should be no surprise to any that our nerdy-spirits would bring us together at a contact center networking event. One of Hattie's long time mentors, Justin Poggioli, encouraged Hattie to tag along to an event of some work, but mostly "boozing and schmoozing". On this fate-filled day in Wrigley, a bright-eyed and cleanly shaven bald man asked if she would stay for another beer. Distracted, and needing to get home to deal with a heat-less apartment during Chicago's frigid winter she politely declined. Blame it on geo tracking or blame it on fate, but three days later on a dating app Scott and Hattie matched and set a date for drinks in Wicker Park. Scott's smooth talking must have really sealed the deal with his opening line..."OF COURSE i'd see you on here like 2 days after meeting you". Drinks at Links led to one IPA after another. It was an evening of many laughs, one too many beers, and a realization that they should probably set a second date since the first had been 4.5 hours of easy-talking. Fast forward to May 15, 2021 when Scott popped the question in the hills of Palos Verdes, CA. Hattie of course said "YES!". The last 4 years of dating have been quite the adventure. Our story so far includes concerts, camping trips, international vacations, Bai Bai, holidays with family, Chicago shenanigans, a cross-country move to Denver, and so much more. We cannot wait to start our next chapter together as husband and wife and kickoff the celebrations in France!
