Manuel Antonio Beach

El Santuario Canopy Adventure Tour

Highly recommend doing a zipline canopy tour if you have time! This is one highly recommended company but feel free to shop around. This company charges $75pp which includes transportation from the hotel to the canopy tour area and back.

Arenal Volcano

If you are looking for a little trip before or after the wedding, Arenal Volcano is quite beautiful for an overnight stay! Arenal is about a four hour drive from Manuel Antonio. There are also buses that leave from Quepos to go to Arenal.

Poás Volcano

Poas Volcano is the closest volcano to San Jose (where the airport is). A great idea if you want to visit a Volcano the day before you head to the airport. It is about a 3 hour drive from Manuel Antonio and about an hour from San Jose. Good day trip. Buses also go from Quepos or San Jose to Poas. *To visit Poas you have to make reservations ahead of time and your visit is limited to 20 minutes due to environmental controls.

National Craft Market

Beautiful and fun open air market full of crafts and local vendors. Emily always stops by here. It is close to the airport so you could visit this when you arrive if you decide to stay a night in San Jose or on the way back towards the airport. The vendors will usually cut you a deal if you are willing to barter. Recommend carrying cash when you go to avoid card fees. Carry small bills as they are more likely to negotiate if you have limited funds and they don't always like to give change.

Bougainvillea Hotel

Very nice hotel to stay in if you want to spend a night near San Jose before you come to Manuel Antonio.

Apart Hotel Roma

Another hotel you could stay in if you want to spend a night near San Jose. A quick taxi ride from San Jose to Heredia. Slightly more affordable than Hotel Bougainvillea.

Cafe Britt

Working coffee farm that offers tours and has a gift shop to get good deals on quality Costa Rican coffee and treats. Near San Jose. Great for a day spent near San Jose. They offer a 1.5 hour coffee tour, a 2 hour coffee tour, and some all day adventure tours that include a coffee tour, lunch, and either a waterfall tour, animal hike, or canopy tour.
