Cocktail Attire. What does this mean? A knee-length, midi-length, or tailored dress/jumpsuit and/or a suit with a tie. For those wearing heels, please note that the wedding events will be taking place primarily on grass, stone, or gravel surfaces so you should steer clear of stilettos or any other shoe where this might be any issue.
We encourage you to wear whatever you will feel good in (except maybe sweatpants), but if a little guidance is helpful, we'd go with "smart/business casual" and festive.
Yes, you will need a valid passport for travel. Please make sure that your passport is not scheduled to expire within the next six months so you do not run into any issues. As of April, 2026, EU countries including Italy have rolled out a new Entry/Exit System (EES) when travelers enter the country. If this is your first time visiting part of the EU since the system was introduced, you will get a photo taken and finger print scan when you arrive at passport control. While some countries allow you to pre-register with an app, Italy currently does not, so there's nothing extra to do on your part! Just bear in mind it may take a little longer to go through customs when you arrive in Europe.
No, just RSVP and the Borgo will take care of the rest!
We recommend bringing plug adapters and/or voltage converters. Italy has type C and F sockets, with the occasional type L — a type C converter should work for most outlets. Make sure your devices can support 220-240V power. Most phone and laptop chargers should be fine, but devices like hair dryers may need a voltage converter to work in Italy.
Major cell phone service providers like Verizon and AT&T offer "day passes" and pay-as-you-go options that allow you to use your phone for a daily fee. If you're taking a longer trip before or after the wedding, you may want to look into longer-term options. Verizon offers a monthly pass, for example, or you could purchase a local sim card. Check with your provider to see what options they offer. Hot tip: You'll need to turn data roaming on to use your phone while in Italy, but you should turn it off whenever you don't plan to use your phone to avoid the daily charge.
The wedding will be outdoors, so please come prepared to walk on grass and gravel (think wide-based shoes!). If you have accessiblity concerns, feel free to reach out. It is slated to be in the low to mid 80s during the day and low to mid 60s during the evening throughout the weekend, so pack with that in mind, and be sure to bring sunscreen.
We recommend either renting a car or taking a shuttle from the airport. We will coordinate one shuttle departing at 12:30 pm from Amerigo Vespucci Airport in Florence and one from Leonardo Davinci Airport in Rome at 12:00pm, both of which will head to the Borgo on Friday, June 5th, returning to the airport on Sunday, June 7th.
All rooms at the Borgo come equipped with a hair dryer and towels. Each apartment at the Borgo has an iron and ironing board.
The Borgo provides breakfast in the aptly-named Breakfast Room (by the reception building where you first come in) from 8:00 am until 10:30 am on Saturday June 6, and brunch from 9:00 am until 1:30 pm on Sunday, June 7.
On Saturday, light lunch will be available at the bar (by the small pool) from 12:30 to 3:30 pm, and then the bar will remain open for drinks only until the start of the ceremony. Drinks at the pool bar prior to the beginning of the wedding will be charged to your room, however, all drinks during the welcome dinner, cocktail hour, and reception are covered. P.S. Please don't bring your own alcohol from offsite or you will get charged a fee!
Check-in runs from 3:00 - 9:00 pm on Friday, June 5, and check-out runs from 8:00 am - 3:00 pm on Sunday, June 7.
There are a number of different ways you can transfer your money to euros for the trip. 1. You can, in many cases, transfer your money to euros from your local bank ahead of the trip so you have cash all set upon arrival. 2. ATMs are an easy way to take out cash while in Italy. There are typically fees associated with the transfer, but they are not usually too steep. 3. You can also get euros at the airport, however, the exchange rate generally is not the best in those cases.
If you requested to take one of the return shuttles, we will be in touch with you separately about the specific details or your return trip as soon as we have final confirmation of the times. Rest assured, if you have signed up for a shuttle and have a flight on Sunday, your shuttle is being arranged for you to make it to the airport with ample time.
