Oktoberfest in Leavenworth
Town will be extra crazy on Saturday with the Oktoberfest Marathon but if you don't mind crowds, check out the procession down Front Street at noon and the keg tapping ceremony at 1 PM in the Festhalle. Fun stuff for the kiddos: climbing wall, bouncy house, and German music downtown.
Plain Hardware Home & Garden
Stop by Plain Hardware for a cup of coffee and to shop around the cute store (handmade jewelry, jam, and clothing made by local artists). On Saturday morning, check out the Farmers Market on the patio from 10 AM to noon before walking around the corner (about 8 mins) to Plain Cellars to taste some delicious wines (open Saturdays noon to 6 PM).
Hang with us at Tierra Learning Center!
Check the ‘’Schedule’’ page for yoga and a nature walk on Saturday morning. Tierra has a big open field (we'll bring lawn games!), basketball court, and a few trails around the property as well - feel free to come hang out as long as you want before the ceremony!
Pybus Public Market - Wenatchee
If you're interested in checking out our home town, it's only 40 minutes from the venue! We suggest a quick hike at Saddlerock (via the Jacobson trailhead) and a stop at Pybus Public Market along the river.
Tumwater Pipeline Trailhead - EASY
Easy 2.4 mile roundtrip hike along the Wenatchee River with pretty fall colors. Family friendly. About 20 mins from the wedding venue or 5 mins from Leavenworth.
Hidden Lake Trailhead - EASY
An easy 1.6 mile out and back to Hidden Lake (adjacent to Lake Wenatchee). Perfect hike for young kids or for anyone looking for a short nature walk. About a 20 minute drive from downtown Plain and less than 40 minutes from both Leavenworth and the venue.
Icicle Ridge Trailhead - MODERATE
This hike is 15 mins from the wedding venue (3 mins from Leavenworth). Good views down into Leavenworth, the Wenatchee and Icicle river valleys, and the foothills of the Cascades (6 miles round trip, 1800 ft gain).
Stuart & Colchuck Lake Trailheads - HARD
Both the Lake Stuart hike (9 miles, 1665 ft gain) and the famous Colchuck Lake hike (8 miles, 2280 ft gain) start at the same trailhead. About an hour from the wedding venue or 40 mins from Leavenworth, so get an early start if you tackle one of these on Saturday (might be best to save for Sunday).
DirtyFace Lookout & Peak Trailhead - HARD
Dirtyface is a challenging hike (9 miles roundtrip, 4000 ft of gain) that rewards you with awesome mountain views at the top. About 15 minutes from downtown Plain and 30 minutes from the venue and Leavenworth. Even if you're in stellar shape, allow yourself at least 5 hours roundtrip for this one!
Freund Canyon Trailhead (Mountain Biking)
If you have your mountain bike in tow or want to rent bikes in town, Freund Canyon is one of the closest trailheads to our venue (less than 10 minutes). 8 miles total, 1800 ft gain. Safe for even beginner riders, if you keep your speed down; fun for advanced riders who want to push their cornering skills.
