Hotel
We have booked a block of about 20-25 hotel rooms at the Holiday Inn Express in Leroy. It's about 10 minutes from the reception hall. We encourage you to be smart when it comes to driving after you have been drinking. The majority of the rooms are for those out-of-towner or out-of-stater guests but we booked a few extra's just in case. The blocks are booked for both Friday and Saturday nights. Check-in is at 3 p.m. and check-out is at 11 a.m. We got a great deal on our block so the rooms will only run you 89.99 a night (plus taxes and fee's). There is a pool and a fitness center as well as a free continental breakfast. Of course, you will get all of this information when you call to make your reservation. Flight
There's airports in all of the "cities" surrounding Farmer City. Bloomington Airport (Central Illinois Regional Airport) is about a half hour away. Champaign Airport (Willard Airport) is about a half hour away. The Decatur Airport is about 45 minutes away. Peoria Airport (General Wayne Downing International Airport) is about an hour and a half away. These are all GREAT options however, you could save significantly more which is why we would HIGHLY recommend making that 3 hour trip to Chicago O'Hare Airport. The majority of the time, you will end up saving you a good chunk of change flying out of Chicago! The worst part about getting to Chicago O'Hare is finding someone willing to take you to the airport however if you visit our "Things To Do Tab", we mention the Metra or the Amtrak (both trains- Amtrak is a train out of Champaign, Metra you will have to drive about half way to get too) to Chicago or get a taxi or uber to take you the rest of the way.
House Or Rental
There is this cool app for all mobile devices called Air BnB. If you are one of those people who plan on staying in Champaign or in Bloomington for an extended visit before or after the wedding weekend, this is a great option to stay closer to those people to whom you are visiting. You are essentially renting out someone's house for your stay. For example, Zach and I have started planning vacations using this app and we can stay in DOWNTOWN NASHVILLE for less than $200 a night in a fully furnished home with a kitchen, bathroom and more. It is a great option, just as cheap as a hotel (if not cheaper) and another different way to book your stay! :)
Rental Car
Farmer City is a small town directly between Champaign, Illinois and Bloomington, Illinois along Interstate 74. I am sharing this information because if you are one of the few who will be flying in, you may want to consider a vehicle rental instead of relying on walking or using a taxi or uber to get around. There are a handful of options in Champaign and some in Bloomington but I would figure out your way of transportation prior to arrival just so that your stay is completely planned out and there are no curve balls when you get here! :)
