FAQs

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

Please RSVP no later than August 15, 2025.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We would love to see our family and friends dressed up and feeling their best! The official dress code is cocktail attire or semi-formal. Women are welcome to wear cocktail-length or full-length dresses, jumpsuits, or any dressy outfit that feels celebratory. Men can wear a suit, with a tie and jacket being completely optional. We kindly ask that guests avoid wearing jeans or white dresses. The ceremony will take place outdoors on grass with little to no shade, so please dress comfortably for the weather. Guests will also be walking between the ceremony and reception venues. We recommend skipping stilettos or thin heels and opting for more practical, sturdy shoes to keep you comfortable throughout the evening.

Question

What time should I arrive?

Answer

The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Please plan to arrive by 4:30 PM to park, enjoy the view, and settle in before we begin.

Question

Will the wedding be indoors or outdoors?

Answer

Our wedding ceremony will be held outdoors on a grassy overlook, with limited or no shade. Please bring sunglasses and wear sunscreen, we’ll be in the sunshine! Seating will be provided.

Question

Will there be parking at the venues?

Answer

Yes, Moonlight Beach has a free parking lot, but it can fill up. We recommend carpooling if possible, and there’s plenty of additional street parking nearby and around the neighborhood. IMPORTANT: Moonlight Beach parking lot closes at 10:00 PM. If you’re planning to stay for the full reception, you must move your car to street parking before heading to Herb & Sea. Herb & Sea has street parking available, and it’s only a 6-minute walk (0.3 miles) from the ceremony site, an easy stroll through downtown Encinitas.

Question

Are there restrooms at the venues?

Answer

There is a public beach restroom down the hill from the ceremony space at Moonlight Beach. It's a restroom at the beach, so expect it to be sandy and possibly a bit wet. Our reception space at Herb & Sea does have a nice restroom for all of our guests to use.

Question

Can I take photos during the ceremony?

Answer

We kindly ask that you keep phones and cameras tucked away during our ceremony. We’d love for everyone to be fully present with us in the moment as we say "I do." Feel free to take all the photos and videos you’d like during the reception and other events throughout the weekend.

Question

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

We’re keeping the celebration intimate. Unless your invitation specifies a guest, we’re only able to accommodate those listed. Thank you for understanding.

Question

Are kids welcome?

Answer

As much as we adore your little ones, this will be an adults-only celebration. We hope this gives everyone a chance to relax and enjoy a well-deserved night out!

Question

Are there other wedding weekend activities?

Answer

Yes! We’d love to spend more time with you all. Friday - Join us for a Welcome Dinner on the beach at Moonlight Beach for food, drinks, and a laid-back sunset gathering. Sunday - Stop by our new home in Carlsbad for brunch before you head out. It’s about a 15-minute drive north of Encinitas. These events are casual and optional, but we’d love to see you there!

Question

What should I pack?

Answer

Bring layers! It’s warm during the day (mid to high 70s), but the evenings cool off quickly near the water. Don’t forget sunscreen, sunglasses, and comfortable shoes for walking and grassy venues. And maybe a swimsuit, you’re in San Diego, after all!

Question

What is the weather in Encinitas this time of year?

Answer

Late September is peak local summer in Encinitas! Expect sunny skies and warm days in the mid-to-high 70s, with cooler evenings in the low 60s. A light sweater or jacket for after sunset is a good idea.

Question

Is everything walkable and accessible in Encinitas?

Answer

Encinitas is a very walkable beach town, especially near the 101 highway where most of our events take place. There are some hills, but Moonlight Beach, Herb & Sea, and downtown are easy to navigate on foot.
