Welcome Dinner

Join us for a relaxed, come-as-you-are dinner on the sand at beautiful Moonlight Beach. There is no formal seating, so we recommend bringing a beach blanket or chair if you would like to lounge. Our favorite local food and drinks will be provided. Expect cool temps once the sun goes down, layers or a sweater are a must. There is a large public parking lot at Moonlight Beach, but it can fill up, so street parking nearby is a great option. There are additional lots at Encinitas Coaster Station which is only a 5-minute walk from the beach. Restrooms and outdoor showers are available on-site. The beach has ramp access and beach wheelchairs can be requested from the lifeguard HQ tower.

Ceremony

Our ceremony will take place at the Moonlight Beach Overlook, a grassy cliffside space with stunning views of the ocean. The area is fully outdoors with no shade, so we highly encourage guests to wear sunscreen and bring sunglasses or a fan if it’s warm. The weather in late September is usually sunny and breezy in the afternoon, around 72–75°F. Seating will be provided for all guests. Cocktail or semi-formal attire is perfect, feel free to dress up, but keep in mind that the ceremony is on grass, so we recommend you leave the stilettos at home. The ceremony will begin promptly at 5:00 PM. Please arrive by 4:30 PM to allow time for seating and settling in. If you're using the Moonlight Beach parking lot for the ceremony, lot closes at 10:00 PM, please move your car to nearby street parking before attending the reception.
Reception

After the ceremony, we’ll head just a few blocks into downtown Encinitas to celebrate at Herb & Sea. We’ll enjoy a dinner featuring fresh seafood, wood-fired favorites, followed by dancing and a great night with our favorite people. We have reserved the private open-air patio for the evening. The reception is just a short walk (under a quarter mile and about 6 minutes on paved sidewalks) from the ceremony. It’s a scenic and relaxed stroll through town, and we encourage guests to walk if able. There’s no need to change outfits, your ceremony look is perfect for the evening. Herb & Sea is fully wheelchair accessible, including entrances and restrooms. While there is some street parking nearby, it’s limited, so we recommend walking or carpooling.

Let’s wrap up the weekend with a brunch at our new home in Carlsbad. Our house is about a 15-minute drive north of Encinitas. Street parking is available in the neighborhood, and you're welcome to come and go as it suits your travel plans. We would love to see you!
