Boxcar Bar + Arcade
One of our absolute favorites and a first “official” date spot for us. This is kid friendly during the day but 21+ in the later evening. Drinks are usually cheap and ANY arcade game you can think of is inside!
Cameron Village
Last minute shopping? Or just need a Chik Fil A fix? Cameron Village has it all. Spend the day shopping in boutiques or check out all the restaurants in this area. Close by all hotels and venues, it’s a short Uber ride away.
City Market
City market is a really cute and quaint area. Filled with restaurants and retail-just outside you will find the newly renovated Moore’s Square. If you want a good breakfast option, Big Ed’s is amazing and will serve up the best biscuits and grits.
Morgan Street Food Hall
This food hall has so much to offer. From southern cooking to empanadas, burgers to tofu, smoothies, ice creams, macaroons, and more! They also offer $15 mimosa carafes on the weekends.
North Carolina Museum of Art
For all of our runner and adventure seeking friends, this is a great day activity. Run (or walk) past some beautiful sculptures and through the trails here.
North Carolina Museum of History
Next to the state capital you can find one of Hannah’s favorite spots. The NC Museum of history boasts numerous exhibits as well as a gift shop with things all from North Carolina.
North Carolina State Farmers Public Market
There’s an amazing restaurant here if you want to check it out. We love it for the breakfast food. If you want to grab some flowers and fresh produce or just enjoy a good ole’ southern breakfast, this is your spot!
North Hills
Another beautiful shopping center of Raleigh’s, you can find everything you need here. From Target to a roof top bar, North Hills is also just a short ride away from the downtown area.
Raleigh Beer Garden
If the weather is nice, head this way! Wine lovers and liquor drinkers also welcome. This location has the most beers on top in the whole world and is three stories of bar fronts and seating! They also have a limited food menu, liquor and wine served downstairs in the front bar, and only NC breweries on the third floor. You can also head outside to the tent with fun lawn games.
The Raleigh Times
Great food with a scenic roof top view! Sit inside to enjoy the historic building or move up and out for a skyline view. Good bar food and craft cocktails.
The Station at Person Street
Can you see a food theme here? Cheap burgers and drinks with a large outside patio and wood fireplace under market lights. Sports are always on and if it is cool, the fire pit is going. Pretty much sums us up 👌🏽
The Tower Escapes
Want to be annoyed with your family before you all gather together for a wedding? Sign up for the tower escapes in downtown. Based in the historic water tower, this is one way to kill some time (or each other).
Watts & Ward
An underground speakeasy with an outdoor option under cafe lights. A perfect night cap option.
Wye Hill Kitchen & Brewing
Another skyline view dining option. A brewery with a specialized menu-you can’t go wrong here. Fun fact-this is located in the bride and grooms neighborhood called Boylan Heights. We may be biased but this is our favorite.
