How have our wedding plans changed in light of the pandemic?

Answer

Yes! Plans have DEFINITELY changed! As you may know, we got married on July 3rd, 2020! Our ceremony and reception were small and intimate and lovely. Unfortunately, we did not have the big party as anticipated. We would still like to celebrate with ALL of our guests! That is why we are having our Anniversary Picnic on July 3rd, 2021. We hope you can all come!

The new event will be outdoors.

Should I stay at the Omni Hotel?

Answer

We plan to have a pool party at the hotel after the picnic, which will have an open bar. As of now, the hotel has informed us that only hotel guests are permitted at the pool. If you are not staying at the hotel, there is a chance you may not be able to come to the pool party. For this reason, if you would like to attend the pool party after the picnic, we highly recommend you stay at the hotel. We are working with the hotel staff to see if they can make an exception and we will keep you updated as we learn more.

Is this a kid friendly event?

Answer

Yes! Kids are welcome. Please keep in mind that there is no separate kids menu at the picnic, but their will be a kids menu at the pool party.

What are mask wearing expectations?

Anyone who is not yet vaccinated is strongly encouraged to wear masks in all settings." In DC, metro and many indoor businesses & restaurants still require masks! We recommend you keep an extra mask with you at all times.

Yes! Please let us know at your earliest convenience so we can inform the caterer.

What's the weather typically like in DC this time of year?

Answer

Hot with a chance of rain. DC in the summer can sometimes have sudden flash storms that clear up quickly.

How does DC public transportation work?

Answer

The DC metro is fantastic! There is a station a short walk from the hotel, and many bus stops near the hotel. We recommend you use the app to get around, and that way you can pay on your phone, which is much easier than using the old-school card machines: https://www.wmata.com/fares/MobilePay/SmarTrip-App.cfm Please note that masks are still required in DC to use the metro.

What else do we need to know?

Answer

Many DC businesses and restaurants still require masks. There will be a bag check at the National Mall for fireworks viewing. No alcohol allowed. We are so excited to celebrate with our families! Please feel welcome to invite us to your site seeing and restaurants so we can spend lots of time with you!
