We LOVE Juice Bars! Hannah and Airius go-to hangout! Best smoothie and poke bowls, avocado toast and juices. They know Airius by all his to-go orders :-)!

Fresh mexican, craft beers.....good eats. Casual and close. Good lunch option or fast order to go.
The Fork 'N' Cork (Wilmington Downtown)
Amazing burgers and fries! Plus a solid chicken and waffles. And O M G - mac and cheese, must try. Their bacon jam is amazing on anything. Good beer selection and wine. Casual and intimate. Call ahead.
Rx Restaurant and Bar (Wilmington Downtown)
Pseudo fine/casual dining. Fresh, local farm-to-table ingredients. Craft cocktails. It's an old pharmacy transformed into a fun place for eats and drinks!
Dram Yard (Wilmington Downtown)
Fine dining, more $$ and pre fixe menu. Tropical and coastal decor. Amazing food, craft cocktail, awesome experience, unique menu. Love both the vegan and meat options. Flavors are amazing!
New Anthem Beer Project Wilmington
Mike's (Hannah's Dad) favorite local beer - if you're a fan of hazy IPAs, a must visit! They have 2 locations - the one on Dock Street (downtown Wilmington) does mostly sours. The Greenfield Street site is where you'll find all the latest beers - and the hazy IPAs!
Edward Teach Brewing (Wilmington Downtown)
Ambiance is cool, beer is okay. Worth a visit if you want to check out the local beers!
Flytrap Brewing (Wilmington Downtown)
Also walking distance from Downtown, not far from Edward Teach. Good variety of beers. Cool logo - the Venus Flytrap is an NC State symbol and one of the few carnivorous plants on earth, that grows naturally along a small section of the North Carolina and South Carolina coastline within a 75-mile radius of Wilmington. Can be found in Brunswick County - they grow wild along the golf courses in St James (next to the alligators). There are 66 species of carnivorous plants in the United States, and an astounding 36 of them live in North Carolina.
Tower 7 Baja Mexican Grill (Wilmington/Wrightsville Beach)
If you venture to Wrightsville Beach from downtown Wilmington and love Baja Mex... you'll love Tower 7 (named after lifeguard Tower 7 in Santa Cruz). Great fresh Baja tacos, chips/salsa and drinks. Walk to the beach.
Koko Cabana (Oak Island)
Combination of tropical, fresh mex and local flavors. Owner lived in Hawaii. Great location on the beach....beachfront and on the pier.
Moore Street Oyster Bar (Southport)
Great selection of oysters with multiple preparations. The lobster mac and cheese... check it out! Cool bar to hang out.
Cafe Koa & Market (Southport)
Family of the Koko Cabana (on the pier, Oak Island) & Kai Joes (taco place on Oak Island) & Ruby's (cafe-coffee and bagels). Unique menu, mostly fresh, local and some vegetarian selections.
American Fish Company - Bar/Entertainment/Views (Southport)
Drinks (no food) and live music on the intracoastal (check the website). Awesome views and sunset pics!
Haag & Sons Seafood (Oak Island)
If you have a kitchen and want to cook up some local fish, John Haag is your man! Tell him "MIKE YEAGER" sent you... he'll hook you up and talk your ear off! Truly a gem and great man!
Pinpoint Restaurant (Wilmington)
FIne dining and a long bar which is cool. Great location. A bit pricey, but a good farm to table and fish specials (like sheepshead).
Ports of Call - movie SAFE HAVEN filmed (Southport)
Ask for the Safe Haven (Nicholas Sparks movie) table. Ports of call underestimates the variety of the menu - dishes from all over the world. Nice wine list. Solid beer list. Recommend a reservation if the weekend.
Southport Smoke House (Southport)
Amazing local BBQ! The brisket is a must have (and BBQ [aka chopped pork]} + hush puppies....and gotta experience all the different sauces. BTW.. if you're from California and you say you're going to BBQ,,,,it means you're bringing chopped pig/bbq pork. We learned the difference between Grill vs. BBQ.
Bald Head Island Ferry (from Southport)
Take a ferry from Southport to Bald Head.....beautiful secluded island, only mode of transportation are bikes or golf carts (reserve ahead of time online - Cary Cart). If you're looking to spend a night they have a couple of small boutique hotels.
Fort Fisher Car Ferry (Southport to Carolina Beach)
Take the car ferry from Southport across the Cape Fear to Kure/Carolina Beach. Great sunsets from the ferry, 30 minute ride. And recommend checking out; - Southerly Biscuits and Pies (morning) - 1206 N Lake Park Blvd unit d, Carolina Beach, NC 28428. - Coast Craft Cocktails and Modern Calabash. Used to be our go-to as Surf House, recently renamed to the calabash style. - Ocean Grill & Tiki Bar - is located in Carolina Beach, we like the bar on the pier that has great views on the ocean.
Inergy Market (Oak Island)
Favorite place on the island - yummy smoothies (some favs - Orange Creamsicle, Oak Island Swamp....or make your own [like Hannah}), organic groceries, Panacea kombucha (from Wilmington) on tap and locally brewed coffee. Stephanie and Sean, who own the biz, are the best! You'll love them and their products!
Kai-Joe's - to go Fresh Mex (Oak Island)
There tends to be a line @ lunch so might be worth calling in your order. Great tacos (North Shore & Culio are some favs), burritos (Kai-Joe & the Big Mama are both yummy).
Ruby's Coffeehouse & Eatery (Oak Island)
Great for coffee drinks, bagels or sandwiches. Located on the beach. Take you coffee and breakfast sancks and chill out on the pier.
