Where can I purchase spirits, given alcohol is state controlled in North Carolina?

Answer

You can purchase spirits at any ABC (Alcoholic Beverage Control Commission) stores. Beer and wine can be purchase anywhere. Locations of ABC stores: - Downtown Wilmington - there are several in WIlmington but nothing directly in downtown. Closest is 523 S 17th St, Wilmington. Get it before you settle in. - Oak Island's ABC is located Oak Island Drive (the main drag). - Downtown Southport, on Howe on the way into downtown (past the only big box store, Walmart - ha). Who needs Nordstrom, Macys, Belk.....we do have some cute little boutiques in Southport, not gonna lie!

Did I need to rent a car?

Answer

It's highly recommended. If you plan to stay just downtown, you should be okay. However, if you plan to attend events in St James or venture out to explore the beaches, you will definitely need a car. It's very rural as you leave Wilmington toward Oak Island/St James.

What is the weather like in September?

Answer

Temperature on average is 80 high/70 low. Amazing, right? it could be a little sticky/humid but not like the summer, usually very pleasant.

On the day of the wedding, will there be transportation?

Answer

We are providing shuttles for those who decide to beach it on Oak Island and Southport (St James). The shuttle will pick up Oak Island and a few folks in Southport (St James). We'll need to get a count as things get closer to make sure we have enough shuttles.

What is the desired attire for the wedding?

Answer

Hannah and Airius would love guests to wear semi-formal attire but we also understand if the weather is warm, you may need to improvise.

Where is the best place to set up camp?

Answer

Depends on what you're looking for.... - Downtown Wilmington - is where the wedding/reception will be held @ Bakery 105, Friday on Orange Street & Front Street. So it's great for those who prefer a downtown vibe on the Cape Fear River. Many restaurant choices, shopping, breweries, nightlife, etc. You can drive 20 minutes to Wrightsville Beach. And it's 30 minutes to Oak Island/St James. - Oak Island - St James is where the welcome dinner + day after wedding brunch will be held @ the Yeager Home. Oak Island is for those who prefer the quieter/slower pace and beach life. Oak Island is a sleepy family friendly beach town - super casual and rural-ish. There are some condos for rent in St James from what we understand.
