Our Love Story

Our story officially began thanks to a little matchmaking from the best man, Alex, and bridesmaid, Katie. One fateful FaceTime call to Chris from Alex alongside Haley in Bloomington ultimately led to our first hangout at a lively 4th of July party in Arlington Heights. With a little help from Alex, his parents, and all of Chris’ friends, we can confidently say that a few kind words about Chris made their way to Haley that day. Together, we felt the spark while learning the wonders of the infamous “Trish Margs,” and bonding over Chris' love for the original “Top Gun” that we ended the night watching. Our first few dates were a perfect blend of celebration: a classic sorority barn dance at a country club in Bloomington, Indiana followed by a memorable 21st birthday trip for Chris in Chicago for a Cubs game. Haley spent the night meeting every one of Chris’ friends and, being nine days older, graciously handling the drink runs. We spent the next few years long‑distance during college, trading weekend drives to make it to date parties, formals, and any excuse to be in the same place. After college we lived out of suitcases for 6 weeks while we visited 12 countries, 18 cities, and a favorite stop in Santorini, where we decided is the place where we will be saying “I do.”  We then spent a year in Chicago, with Haley in Wrigleyville and Chris basically living at her apartment every weekend. Next came medical school for Haley and back to long distance. Haley is now a resident at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis, where we bought our first house together and got our red golden doodle, Wrigley (thanks to that 12/1 Sunday Night Football bet Haley chose). Chris proposed in the backyard of our home on July 3rd, 2024 before a surprise dinner at our favorite restaurant in the city, Livery. The very next day we celebrated with our families in Evansville on Haley’s favorite holiday (and back to where it all began 7 years after we met in person), July 4th. On May 30, 2026, we will say “I do” in Santorini, Greece, feeling grateful for the family and friends who helped us get here. We can not wait to celebrate with you all!
