If you have not clicked on the link under Castello del Trebbio in our travel section - please pause here and go back. The pictures of the property and landscape are breathtaking. Italy has been a home away from home for us for many years and after getting engaged in Italy we could not think of a more perfect place to celebrate. We weren't sure how this could be a reality but enter Alberto Peroni and his family at Castello del Trebbio who have made this dream come true. Castello was built before the XII century and is linked to the rich banking family, the Pazzi, of the Florentine Renaissance. While the estate still lies among the green Tuscan hills in the heart of Chianti Rufina, today it is a wine-growing, agricultural agriturismo. Pinch us!
Yes - not only will you need a passport, please be sure to check your passport expiration date. Italy is a country in the EU that requires all U.S. travelers to have a valid passport six months from the day of their RETURN to the U.S. For example, if you are returning to the U.S. right after our wedding on 9.1.2024 your passport will need to have an expiration date after 3.2.2025.
Depending on where you take off in the U.S. the flight is around ten hours in total. Eddie's Tip: Wear comfy clothes and bring a portable charger. Hailey's Tip: Bring some Advil PM or Melatonin to take after dinner is served.
Nope! In the bigger metropolitan areas of Italy you will find almost everyone speaks English. Although Italians appreciate any effort to speak their language, so some quick hits: Hello/Goodbye - Ciao Thank you - Grazie You are welcome - Prego I am sorry - Mi dispiace I don't know - No lo so Let's go - Andiamo Yes - Si Wine - Vino Croissant- Cornetto
When using your phone abroad you can confirm with your service provider international daily use/limits prior to coming on the trip. You may also use your phone on Wi-Fi only by keeping your phone on Airplane Mode for the entirety of the trip. Eddie's Tip: Utilizing Wi-Fi in Italy is easy - most restaurants/cafes/shops have it available! Hailey's Tip: You can download specific areas on Google Maps when on Wi-Fi so you can use it offline to navigate around!
The train system in Italy is incredibly reliable so whether you are using them to get to our wedding weekend or traveling before or after, we highly encourage using them! Eddie's Tip: Some of the trains have Wi-Fi and be sure to grab a chocolate croissant at Roma Termini. Hailey's Tip: Flag your email with your digital train tickets or download them to your Apple Wallet so they are easy to pull up when needing to scan them.
Castello del Trebbio is our wedding venue that also contains some guest accommodations. Villa dei Bosconi is a lovely hotel fifteen minutes away from our wedding venue with its own accommodations, pool, and cafe.
Villa dei Bosconi is a beautiful bed and breakfast featuring more traditional hotel rooms, set up as either a double, triple or quad room. Castello del Trebbio has three separate villas and three apartment structures. Each villa has its own pool and unique bedroom/bathroom layouts. The apartment structures contain multiple bedrooms and unique layouts as well. We will determine everyone's room assignments as RSVPs come in. Rest assured we want everyone to feel comfortable in their own unique space. You will receive confirmation from us on which structure your accommodations are in and upon check-in, during the wedding weekend, we will help you find your individual room.
We are contracting both Villa dei Bosconi and Castello del Trebbio for our guests use. We are excited to be able to subsidize the cost of our guests and offer everyone a flat rate for the duration of your stay. The cost will be $490/guest. You are paying for your three day, two night stay at Villa dei Bosconi or Castello del Trebbio. We kindly ask for payment via Venmo (@hailey-kaufman), Zelle/Chase Quick Pay (Hailey Kaufman, 224-234-6923) or send a personal check by April 1, 2024.
