Unexpectedly found. Intentionally chosen.

In February 2023, we met at Love Burn, a regional Burning Man event in Florida. Our first meeting lasted about the length of a shuttle ride. We struck up a conversation and instantly connected. Before getting off the shuttle, Brad invited Lauren to a friend's DJ set later that evening. As he stepped off, Lauren briefly considered getting off too so they could keep talking... but she thought about it just a little too long, and the shuttle drove away. As it turns out, Brad was hoping she'd get off the shuttle too. Later that night, Lauren found her way to the DJ set but couldn't find Brad. So she did what anyone at a festival should do and started dancing beneath the glow of the beautifully lit trees. A little while later, she found herself dancing with a cute guy. Then she looked up, recognized his smile, and said, "Wait... I know you!" Brad's face lit up. From that moment on, we were inseparable. At first, we both assumed it would be a festival romance. Instead, it became the beginning of the greatest adventure of our lives. Over the next two years, we traveled thousands of miles together. Lauren explored the country in her RV while Brad roamed in his van. We crossed the United States twice, chased new experiences, and tested out life in several different states. Eventually, Lauren sold the RV. Brad sold the van. We decided to put down roots in Phoenix, bought a home, adopted a dog, and began building a life together. We still love adventure. We still dream big. We still talk about where life might take us next. The truth is, we have no idea where we'll be three years from now. We might still be in Phoenix. We might be somewhere completely different. We may be living in a house, or we may be off on another adventure. What we do know is this: No matter where we go, we'll go there together. And that's the easiest choice we've ever made.
