These sand dunes are so fun and are super close to the area of the wedding. You rent out sandboards and play around. Wear sunscreen! Why not surf some dunes in the morning of the wedding or the day after?
If you are looking for beach clubs, nightlife, fun and restaurants, Jurere Internacional in Florianopolis is your place to go on the North. It is the most invested and developed place on the island. You will have no problems getting Ubers and finding great food. Recommend ''Il Campanario Resort'' for a central hotel option. Favorite parties to go to are: Safari club, 300 Cosmo Beach Club, Folha Beach Club (great for dinner + turn into party with DJs), Acqua Plage Beach Club. There is also a beautiful 18th century fortress to explore during the day: São José da Ponta Grossa Fortress.
Still in Jurere in the North of Floripa is this secluded wellness hotel. It has beautiful architecture and design, the menu is healthy and organic and the whole concept is very exclusive. It's not the best if you want to be hopping around and exploring, but if you would like to splurge a little and relax, go for it!!
If you have a couple of days in Rio because you opted to have a lay over there, or would like to explore the city for a bit - as I believe we will do after the wedding as well - we highly recommend staying in neighborhoods in Zona Sul - in order of preference: Ipanema, Leblon, Copacabana, São Conrado. These are areas we've visited multiple times, especially the two first ones, and you will feel safe and have so much to do!!! No shortness of ubers either. Must tourist things to do are: 1) go up Sugar Loaf Mountain by cable car because it's the best view and experience, 2) go up Christ the Redeemer because you have to live that moment at least once, 3) walk on the beautiful boardwalk of Ipanema and Copacabana, lie on the sand, coconut water and people watch. Good places to eat and drink: Boteco Belmonte, Braseiro da Gavea, Boteco Rainha, and all the restaurants and bars on the street Dias Ferreira in Leblon neighborhood for a great time. We do not encourage favelas sightseeing.
