We are getting married at Longleaf Vineyard, an intimate venue tucked in the mountains of Western North Carolina but just under a half hour from downtown Asheville. Both the ceremony and reception will be at this location.
Longleaf Vineyard is an outdoor venue. Weather permitting, we will hold the ceremony outside, dinner under a large tent, and dancing in a covered pavilion. The venue is relatively small and all the various spaces are within feet from one another, but guests are more than welcome to explore the grounds. In the event of rain, the ceremony will be held under the pavilion.
We will be providing transportation in the form of 2 large passenger vans and a mini bus from the Hilton Garden Inn downtown hotel location. These vehicles will be able accommodate just over 50 people on a first-come-first-serve basis. While you may also drive, the venue parking lot will only accommodate 40 cars. Please see more detail on driving in the question/answer below. You can find full transportation details on the Travel & Lodging tab.
While it is possible to drive to venue, there are winding gravel roads required to get to and from the space. If you are planning on driving, please drink responsibility during the reception. The safety of our guests is our highest priority and we want to ensure drivers are capable of navigating the mountain roads in the dark. Please note that the venue accommodates 40 cars in its parking lot.
Guest arrival: 4:15pm (provided transportation will depart the Hilton Garden Inn at 3:30pm) Ceremony: 4:30pm Cocktail Hour: 5:00pm Toasts/Dinner: 6:00pm Music Ends: 10:00pm Provided Transportation Departure: 10:30pm After Party: 11:00pm to 2:00am
We ask guests to dress in cocktail attire for the ceremony/reception. Please know that Asheville temperatures in late May average between 75-80 degrees, but can become cool in the mountains if it rains.
Hors d'oeuvres will be served during cocktail hour and a seated/plated meal served for dinner. Vegetarian and Gluten Free options will be provided and available for selection on your invitations/RSVPs. If you have a specific dietary restriction we should be aware of, please reach out the bride or groom.
We are providing two hotel blocks for guests, one at the Hilton Garden Inn in downtown Asheville, and the other at the DoubleTree By Hilton in the Biltmore Village, 10 minutes south of the city. Please note that our provided transportation to the venue will pick up at the downtown hotel only, but guests staying elsewhere can park at, or take Ubers to that location. We also highly recommend VRBO and airbnb rentals in the area as they can be quite affordable for large groups and very beautiful if outside of the city.
ASAP! We recommend you book accommodations as soon as you know you will be attending our wedding! The memorial day weekend is a busy time in the area. Hotel blocks will close 1 month before the wedding date. VRBOs/airbnb's are already getting rented out for that weekend.
Yes many! BAR CRAWL (5/27): If you plan on getting into town a bit early, we will be having a casual bar crawl through some of our favorite bars in downtown Asheville on Friday evening. WELCOME PARTY (5/28): We are hosting a Welcome party for all guests on Saturday evening - please be on the look out for separate invitations for this event. AFTER PARY (5/29): We will also be hosting an after party at Antidote at Chemist Spirits, located in downtown Asheville, for festivities to continue into the evening after the reception.
Our event is an adult-only reception.
Depending on your location, driving is a fantastic way to get to Asheville as it can be great to have a car to explore the area/go hiking. If you plan on flying, there are limited flights to Asheville Regional Airport. Other good airport options included Greenville-Spartanburg (1 hour outside city) or Charlotte Douglas (2 hours outside city). Please see the Travel and Lodging tab for more detail.
Please refer to the Registry tab for details!
We love Asheville and want our friends and family to enjoy the city and it's beautiful surroundings to the fullest extent. If you have the option of extending your trip for a few days, either before or after our wedding weekend, we highly recommend it! Please see the Things to Do tab for our recommendations in the area.
Please contact Sarah or James if you have additional questions!
