Question

Are your wedding plans changing due to COVID-19?

Answer

At this time we are moving forward as planned, with the health and safety of our friends and family at top of mind. We will communicate directly with you if our plans change in any way.

Question

What can I do as a guest to help reduce the risk of spreading COVID-19?

Answer

If you are able to get the vaccine--please do so! Marion County, where Indianapolis is located, is currently under a mask mandate that does not expire until June 7. Therefore, it is expected that all guests wear a mask while at the venue, except when eating and drinking. If you are not vaccinated, we also ask that you quarantine 10-14 days in advance of traveling to our wedding, as much as possible. For those unable to fully quarantine, we ask that you limit non-essential activities such as eating in restaurants and attending social gatherings (this includes Memorial Day Weekend barbecues!). If all attendees are as safe as possible leading up to the wedding, that can help promote the safety and well-being of all of you, our loved ones.

Question

What measures are you taking to reduce the risk of exposure?

Answer

As seen in the above question, we are asking all our guests to do their part to help protect each other. We are expecting masks to be worn in accordance with Marion County's current mask mandate. We also are excited that over 80% of our guests are fully vaccinated by our wedding date! Our venue is large and has a lot of room to spread out. We'll still boogie on the dance floor but we just might be a little more spread out!

Question

What if I am hesitant to travel to and attend your wedding?

Answer

Please make the best decision for yourself based on your health, what you feel comfortable with, where you are located, and in accordance with public health and government guidelines. The health of our friends and family is our priority, and we know there are many factors to consider. We respect your decision to do whatever is best for you and your family and are understanding of whatever you decide. We ask that you let us know of your decision as soon as you are able to, preferably before the RSVP deadline. However if you need more time to decide than the deadline allows, please let us know.

Question

What is the dress code?

Answer

We recommend cocktail or semi-formal attire. Please keep in mind we will be indoors, but there is an outdoor area for cocktail hour. It can get hot in June, but the temperature will likely drop in the evening!

Question

What time should I arrive at the ceremony?

Answer

We suggest arriving about 20 - 30 minutes before the ceremony is scheduled to begin.

Question

How should I get to the venue?

Answer

The Biltwell is located in downtown Indianapolis and is only a 5-7 minute car-ride away from our recommended hotels. We encourage you to use Uber/Lyft, but if you plan to drive know there is plenty of free parking available at the venue. We have worked with the Hampton Inn to provide a FREE shuttle TO the venue (not returning) for those staying there. The shuttle will make two trips: one at 3:45 pm and the other at 4:15 pm (ceremony starts at 5 pm). You should arrive at the venue about 15 minutes after the shuttle leaves. It only holds 11 people, therefore some people will need to take the earlier time slot. The meeting point for the shuttle is in the Valet lane off Maryland St.

Question

Am I allowed to use my cell phone during the ceremony and reception?

Answer

Grant and Leslie will be having an unplugged ceremony. We ask that you plan to turn your phone off and have it put away during the entirety of the ceremony. You can use your cell phone after the ceremony, but the couple also asks you refrain from taking pictures of them and posting on social media without their knowledge.

Question

I have a food allergy or dietary restriction, can I make a special request?

Answer

Yes, please email us at grantlesliewedding@gmail.com if you are vegetarian/vegan or dairy-free, and we will work with our caterer to best accommodate your needs. All other dietary restrictions can be accommodated during dinner by the catering staff.

Question

Are kids invited?

Answer

We love your kids—we really do. But we want our wedding to be your night off! We kindly request you leave your children at home.

Question

When should I RSVP by?

Answer

We prefer you register by the April 15 deadline, however if you need more time due to COVID, please let us know!

Question

Can I bring a date?

Answer

Your RSVP card included in your invitation indicates how many seats we have reserved for you. If you have any questions about this number, please let us know.

Question

Should I refer to the couple as "The Carpenters?"

Answer

No, as Leslie has chosen not to change her last name at this time. We ask you to respect this decision and refrain from purchasing items that would insinuate her last name had changed.
