Less traffic than Seattle.
You can fly into Fairbanks International Airport. Guests to past Alaskan weddings have flown or cruised to Anchorage first (Anchorage International Airport) then ridden the Alaska Railroad up to Denali National Park and then Fairbanks (budget at least an extra day to see the park if you go with this option). More ambitious travelers who like a roadtrip could drive up the Alcan highway or take the Alaska Marine Highway up to Haines, then drive the rest of the way from there (these options will require passing through Canada, so they may or may not be available HA HA GOOD TIMES) Technically you could walk, bicycle, or take a riverboat journey like the town founders did back in 1901, but you will have to handle your own navigation.
Fairbanks has many fine hotels, AirBNBs, regular B&Bs, campgrounds, etc. We have several convenient options listed in the "Travel" section. Renting a car is recommended.
Unfortunately, our couches are spoken for. If transportation or a place to stay would prove a deal-breaking hardship, please reach out to us directly.
While we have spent years practicing at behaving like an old married couple, we actually haven't done the thing. We can't believe it either.
Sadly not yet. But if you have, we want to hear about it.
Not necessarily. We're pragmatic. If you're a feckless billionaire who is way into one of us, lives in a community property state and doesn't believe in prenuptial agreements, please let a member of the wedding party know ASAP.
