Grace and Aaron were introduced at UC Berkeley in 2015 by a mutual friend, Karina, who went to high school with Aaron and was a freshman on the beach volleyball team with Grace. Their first date was at the Strawberry Canyon campus pool and after many dining hall dinners, Aaron finally got serious and asked Grace to be his girlfriend. Plot twist, she said no. Not to be deterred, Aaron asked her out again on the eve of the Big Game against Stanford. Luckily, this time Grace said yes. Fast forward ten years through college, graduation, jobs, long distance, even longer distance, COVID, San Francisco, and back to Southern California. On December 7th 2024, a beautiful 70-degree day on Catalina Island which also happened to be Aaron's birthday, he asked Grace to marry him. Filled with happy tears, a golden sunset, and reflections on the life they had built together, it became one of the most special evenings of their lives. As most of you know, Grace and Aaron can't sit still. Traveling is one of their favorites things to do, as shared experiences and new adventures bring them the most joy. They've fallen in love with Costa Rica and couldn't think of a better place to set the tone for the rest of their lives together. Grace and Aaron want their favorite people to experience the "pura vida" lifestyle. Pura Vida is a Spanish phrase that directly translates to “pure life” and it encapsulates the culture and philosophy of Costa Rica. You can expect barefoot walks, small local restaurants, and sunset swims. Playa Potrero is casual, welcoming, and beautifully understated.
