We met online in 2016 and knew shortly thereafter that we were going to be very important to each other.
Rachel convinced Brian to move from Vermont to Washington, and Brian convinces Rachel to actually spend time outside in Washington. Rachelʻs first wilderness backpacking trip, 2020.
We share a love of swimming. We love to snorkel together and often swim laps together. Fun fact, we were both lifeguards in high school!
We moved to Olympia in 2018 (Brian for the first time, Rachel back to where she went to college) for Rachelʻs job.
Brian once told me he had a surprise & took me out to a lake. I noticed he had a small box in his pocket. I was convinced it was a ring! It turned out to be a box of flies to teach me to fly fish.
We have been lucky to be able to travel together, locally and internationally. Here we are in the Atacama desert in Peru, 2019.
