Things To Do

You're in Palms Springs! Here are the most fun activities to check-out if you have extra time in the area!
Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

Palm Springs Aerial Tramway

1 Tramway Road, Palm Springs, CA 92262

The Palm Springs Aerial Tramway—the world’s largest rotating tram car—travels over two-and-one-half miles along the breathtaking cliffs of Chino Canyon, transporting riders to the pristine wilderness of the Mt. San Jacinto State Park. During your approximately ten-minute journey, tram cars rotate slowly, offering picturesque and spectacular vistas of the valley floor below. Once you reach the Mountain Station—elevation 8,516 feet—enjoy two restaurants, observation decks, State Park Visitors Center and natural history museum, two documentary theaters, a gift shop and over 50 miles of hiking trails.

Golf Capitol of the Southwest

Golf Capitol of the Southwest

If you're a golfer like Andy, Palm Springs is pretty close to heaven. PGA West has 6 golf courses in Palms Springs (whatever that means!). If you're not too hungover Saturday morning and you have the ol' Arnold Palmer in you, we encourage reserving a golf day (not sure what people say to suggest this? book the course? reserve a play?). We don't golf, we're more of pool people ourselves, but whatever floats your boat!

Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree, CA

Joshua Tree National Park is where Dr. Seuss meets the desert—think funky, twisty trees, giant boulders made for climbing, and sunsets straight out of a movie. Come for the weird, stay for the stargazing. Adventure seekers can check out the Chasm of Doom hike (fun fact: Matt took Caitlin here on their first overnight trip… she hyperventilated and almost called it off right then and there).

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens

47900 Portola Avenue, Palm Desert, CA 92260

The Living Desert Zoo and Gardens is located in Greater Palm Springs, packed with wildlife, stunning desert scenery, and gorgeous gardens. With over 450 animals—including some rare and endangered species—you’ll get up close to incredible desert-adapted creatures. Keep an eye out for bighorn sheep, desert tortoises, cheetahs, giraffes, zebras, and even mountain lions, all roaming in spacious, natural habitats.

Downtown Palm Springs

Downtown Palm Springs

Palm Springs, CA

Just a block from the resort, Downtown Palm Springs is a must-visit! Take a stroll to see the iconic Forever Marilyn statue, browse the shops and design stores (where retail meets art), or catch an infamous Sunday morning Drag Queen Brunch.
