Key West

It's Fantasy Fest in Key West which is the most exciting time of year to be there but also the most expensive. Hotels can cost around $400 a night. You can find a better deal with a condo but they usually require a week stay. Wherever you end up, it's best to stay in Old Town, within walking distance to Duval where all of the action is. If you stay in Midtown or New Town, you'll need to Uber or bike to events on Duval. The official dates of FF are October 20-29th. https://www.fantasyfest.com

Flight

Key West or Miami

You can fly directly into Key West or into Miami. If you rent a car in Miami, you get to enjoy the BEAUTIFUL 3 hour drive through the Keys. You would want to see if your accommodation has a parking spot for you. But if not, you might be able to find a parking spot somewhere on the street and would not move it again during your stay because you would likely lose it. There are also a couple of parking garages on the island. It's not really feasible to assume you can drive your vehicle to get to the events on Duval. Parking is expensive and very limited.
