Flight

San Francisco International Airport

The closest airport to Big Sur is the Monterey Regional Airport, but we suggest flying into San Francisco because it can be less expensive and easier to find a flight. Rent a car and drive down the coast-- plan some time in Monterey or Carmel-by-the-Sea, it will not disappoint!

Shuttle

Shuttle from Big Sur Lodge

September 21, 2019 3:30 pm - 5:30 pm

There is no parking at the Henry Miller Memorial Library, a shuttle will make trips from Big Sur Lodge to the ceremony site beginning at 3:30 PM. Following the ceremony and champagne toast, the shuttle will bring you to Big Sur Bakery for the cocktail hour and reception beginning at 5:15 PM. At the end of the night, the shuttle will take trips back to Big Sur Lodge beginning at 10:00 PM.

And it will be easy access for the campfire welcome dinner and morning-after brunch, which will be held on the property and surrounding State Park.

If you're looking for something more economical or would like to have cell phone service, Carmel-by-the-Sea is a 45 min drive north from the location of the reception. There are also many more Airbnb options here if you're willing to drive.

An Important Note About Big Sur

Please be aware that it's likely you will have NO cell phone service or data. Wi-Fi is also very unlikely during your time in Big Sur. To prepare, please print maps or other travel information as you will not be able to rely on calling us for help or Googling. See your invitation for a map of the area and other useful information. When in doubt, go south on Highway 1 to Big Sur Station, where they have maps and information: 47555 CA-1, Big Sur, CA 93920
