Bear Valley Lodge

Bear Valley Lodge is ours for the weekend! Our friends and family will have exclusive use of the lodge, which has two restaurants, a café, and a general store. Guests can enjoy 20% off their lodging for the wedding by using group code erinandesteban2026 to book. Keep in mind that the reception will take place inside the lodge. We will be mindful to wind the party down at a reasonable time, but if you have concerns about noise, you may want to consider staying nearby (check out our recommendations below!). We can also request rooms toward the back of the lodge for folks seeking a quieter space.

There are several condos within walking distance of Bear Valley Lodge that can sleep up to 9 people! We have made an Airbnb wish list for your convenience. Please reserve these larger accommodation options for families traveling in large groups.

Travel Note

Travel from Northern California

Situated two and half hours east of Sacramento, Bear Valley is a relatively remote location. As such, we recommend to all of our guests that they take advantage of the long weekend and arrive the day prior to the wedding. The last large town before arriving at the lodge is Murphys, which is a fantastic spot to take a break from driving and grab a bite to eat. Gold Country Roasters is great for coffee and Firewood will fulfill any food craving! If you are flying in for our wedding, Sacramento Airport is the closest and most convenient. If you choose to fly and would like to carpool from the Sacramento area, please let us know and we will do our best to assist in coordinating those arrangements.

The drive from SoCal to Bear Valley ranges from 6.5 - 7.5 hours. We appreciate you making the journey for this special day. As a token of our gratitude, first round is on us! In all seriousness, we want to make your being here as seamless as possible, which is why we chose Memorial Day Weekend and a venue that is a one stop shop. Additionally, our RSVP list will be public, so you may choose to coordinate a caravan or carpool amongst yourselves. There are many places to stop along the way to split up your drive. If you plan to do the drive over two days, we recommend staying the night in either Fresno or Merced.
