There is so much to do on Lake Garda: have a coffee or aperitivo at Punta San Vigilio, go swimming at Val di Sogno, take the cable car from Malcesine up to Monte Baldo - it's a stunning view.
A beautiful castle overlooking the city. You can either take the stairs to the top, or take the funicular for a couple of euros. The view is breathtaking and it will afford you a glimpse of the Teatro Romano, the Roman Theatre, which is still in use.
This is the oldest bridge in Verona, built by the Romans, partially destroyed in WWII, but rebuilt and still magical.
Emily's favourite café in the cathedral square. Try a cold coffee (caffè shakerato) in their garden.
This is the heart of Verona. From here you can see the old Roman forum and a really beautiful tower called Torre dei Lamberti. Walk over to Piazza dei Signori to be stared at by a statue of Dante (author of the Divine Comedy), then walk to Cortile Mercato Vecchio, just because it's a beautiful courtyard.
If you're feeling romantic, visit Juliet's balcony. It's a lovely balcony but warning: tourists are everywhere.
Don't miss the Arena. Built by the Romans it has been better preserved than the Colosseum in Rome and is still in use! Great for opera buffs. More information can be found here: https://www.arena.it/en/arena-di-verona
This ice cream shop near Piazza Bra is a Franzini favourite. The "Gianduiotto da passeggio" ("jan-doo-yacht-o") is a take-away chocolate ice cream with whipped cream. It's to die for :-)
