Drive: if you are driving your own car or a rental, Corte San Mattia is only 10 minutes from the centre of Verona. The best route is via Via Marsala. There is ample parking space at the venue. Just remember there will be lots of good wine to drink, so a taxi might be a better option! Taxi or bus: we recommend using the Rome2Rio app/site (rome2rio.com) to figure out the route, time and price. The app will also suggest a list of taxi companies in the area (Uber isn't available in Verona).
Plane: The nearest airport is Verona Villafranca (Valerio Catullo). Ryanair & Easyjet are the cheapest airlines for anyone moving within Europe. If you can’t find flights to Verona, the other nearby options are Bergamo (Orio) or Venezia (Marco Polo). Both locations are 1-2 hours away from Verona by car. We recommend hiring a car at Verona airport. Otherwise grab a taxi or hop into the Aerobus which takes you to Verona’s train station (Verona Porta Nuova). Train: If you are arriving by train, Verona’s main central station is called Verona Porta Nuova. From there grab a taxi or a bus. The app Rome2Rio (rome2rio.com) will help you figure out the route, time, price and details of taxi and bus companies.
Most of you will be flying to Verona just for us, and that’s already the best gift. Plus we’ve lived together for a few years and have everything we need. However, if you would like to give us a gift, we will be following the Italian tradition of having a box at the venue for any contributions you’d like to make to our honeymoon fund.
The venue will only admit people who have had their COVID jabs and have a vaccine passport (you can find out how to get yours here https://www.gov.uk/guidance/nhs-covid-pass). We don't expect masks will be mandatory by the summer, but bring one (the surgical FFP2) just in case. Make sure you have all the paperwork needed to enter Italy, in case you're joining us from outside the country. For UK residents, the latest advice can be found here: https://www.gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/italy/entry-requirements For people coming from the UK, don't forget to get travel insurance for protection against COVID cancellations and sudden illness - because of Brexit, UK residents are no longer covered by EU healthcare, so you need insurance :-( you'll also need to check with whatever insurance you get to make sure it covers COVID-19.
