FAQs

Please continue to check back for updates as we continue to plan. If you have any other questions than what is listed here, please feel free to reach out! IMPORTANT: If you want to stay for our after party at the venue, you will have to drive yourself to and from the venue due to timing. If the current fire bans in Colorado escalate in severity, we may not be able to have a bonfire during our after party, which may affect your decision to stay for the after party. IMPORTANT: The drive to our venue is beautiful, but it is a steep mountain pass with sharp turns, no street lights and limited guard rails. Please exercise caution while driving and never, ever, EVER drink and drive. There will be a shuttle for those who expressed interest. For those of you who were interested in transportation, we will have shuttles leaving from the Lionshead Parking Structure.
Question

Do I have to worry about altitude sickness?

Answer

Vail is up in the mountains at over 8,000 feet, so some people might feel a little off when they first arrive—things like headaches, feeling extra tired, or getting out of breath faster than usual. It’s totally normal and usually goes away after a day or two. The best things to do are stay hydrated (drink TONS of water), take it easy at first, and maybe hold off on that second cocktail until you’ve adjusted. Let us know if you have any questions—we want everyone to feel great and have an amazing time! We will have Acetazolamide and Oxygen available if necessary.

Question

What is the deal with getting to the venue?

Answer

We will be providing transportation for those who expressed interest. You may park at the Lionshead Parking Structure, and will get picked up at the Information Center and Shuttle Pickup/Dropoff Area starting at 2:30pm. Parking at Lionshead is free after 2:00pm (the 1st hour is free, and it is formally free after 3:00pm). The shuttles will return from the venue starting at 9:30pm. IF YOU WANT TO STAY FOR THE AFTER PARTY YOU WILL HAVE TO DRIVE YOURSELF TO THE VENUE, as the shuttles will not wait to take people home after 10:00pm. Be mindful that the road to the venue, albeit beautiful, is a mountain pass with sharp turns, few guard rails and no street lights. Please drive carefully and NEVER drink and drive.

Question

It's pretty remote out there, is there cell service?

Answer

There is free WiFi at the venue, that reaches from the main building to the reception tent and cocktail area. Unfortunately it does not extend to the ceremony island. There is also free WiFi at the Explorer Cabins. THERE IS LIMITED CELL SERVICE PAST THE TOWN OF MINTURN ON THE DRIVE so please take note of that.

Question

What type of weather should we expect?

Answer

According to our venue, it has only rained for a September wedding once in their 10 years of experience, and this shower only lasted for a few minutes! We are optomistic that we will have a beautiful sunny fall day. Because it is the mountains, the weather is anticipated to be 60-70 during the day but drop to 30-40 at night. We encourage you bring a jacket or layers to stay toasty while you toast us! Also, there is a current fire ban in Colorado due to the risk of wild fires. Camp Hale is at a Level 1. If they have to escalate to a Level 2 or 3, we will be unable to have a bonfire during our after party.

Question

Are children allowed at your wedding?

Answer

As much as we love and adore the little ones, we were hoping this would be a good time for Mom and Dad to let loose and have fun! Therefore we will not be having children at our wedding events.

Question

What if we are unable to make it?

Answer

We understand that not everyone is able to join us in person on our special day, but please know you'll be with us in spirit! We'll do our best to share photos and videos afterward so you can still be part of the memories. Feel free to share your email with us and we can communicate after the wedding.

Question

Do you have a gift registry?

Answer

Your presence is more than enough of a present! Robby and I request that you do not buy us anything. We are lucky to have everything we need with all of you coming to celebrate with us. If you absolutely 210% want to gift us something, we will have a spot for cards at our reception but this is NOT necessary.

Question

Is there a dress code?

Answer

All we ask is that you wear something that makes you feel amazing! Semi formal is the name of the game. Below-the-knee dresses, jumpsuits, dress shirts and slacks. The ceremony is outdoors and you will have to walk on grass so please take this into account.

Question

I have a food allergy, can I make a special request?

Answer

Please let Robby or I know if you have any special accommodations needed on the RSVP or via text, and we will communicate this to our planner and caterer!

Question

Are there any other events that I should know about around the wedding?

Answer

We are planning on doing our rehearsal walk through for the bridal party the morning of 9/12/25, followed by a rehearsal dinner and welcome event. Please see the Schedule page for more details!
