Things To Do

One of Travel Magazine's Top Places to Visit if You're Catholic and Have Nothing Better to Do, South Bend, IN and the surrounding area is full of cool spots to check out. Here are a few of our faves.

University of Notre Dame

Notre Dame, IN 46556
, (574) 631-5000

Elise's alma mater, Notre Dame, is an absolute must when visiting the area. Known as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world, October is the perfect time to visit this historic university. While on your visit, be sure to take a walk around one of Notre Dame's two lakes, where you will also find the world-famous Grotto. Be sure to take a moment of quiet reflection and light a candle for a loved one. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is also a must-see, with its stunning stained glass and fresco ceilings. Right next-door, you'll find ND's most famous building, the Golden Dome. Finally, you won't want to miss the opportunity to see Elise's home away from home, the home of the Finest women on campus, Farley Hall.

Niles Scream Park

855 Mayflower Road, Niles, MI 49120
, (269) 687-3327

If Halloween is your thing, the Niles Haunted Scream Park is the perfect place to spend Friday evening. Our wedding weekend in slated to be the park's opening weekend, so be sure to purchase tickets in advance.

Studebaker National Museum

201 Chapin Street, South Bend, IN 46601
, (574) 235-9714

Studebaker is a name synonymous with South Bend. Stop by the Studebaker National Museum to check out their collection of classic cars. Feel free to pop in to the Northern Indiana Center for History next-door to learn a bit more about the history of the area. Finish off your visit with lunch at Tippecanoe Place, the former home of the Studebaker family. If you do, be sure to ask Elise's grandmother, Grandma, about the times she spent there as a kid.

For all the days along the way
