Known as one of the most beautiful college campuses in the world, October is the perfect time to visit this historic university. While on your visit, be sure to take a walk around one of Notre Dame's two lakes, where you will also find the world-famous Grotto. Be sure to take a moment of quiet reflection and light a candle for a loved one. The Basilica of the Sacred Heart is also a must-see, with its stunning stained glass and fresco ceilings. Right next-door, you'll find ND's most famous building, the Golden Dome. Finally, you won't want to miss the opportunity to see Elise's home away from home, the home of the Finest women on campus, Farley Hall.

Studebaker is a name synonymous with South Bend. Stop by the Studebaker National Museum to check out their collection of classic cars. Feel free to pop in to the Northern Indiana Center for History next-door to learn a bit more about the history of the area. Finish off your visit with lunch at Tippecanoe Place, the former home of the Studebaker family. If you do, be sure to ask Elise's grandmother, Grandma, about the times she spent there as a kid.
