Once upon a time, in the spring of 2016, Yesuto visited his brother, Obasi, at Harvard to see him perform in a Battle of the Bands. On the way there, Obasi introduced him to his classmate, Diana, who happened to be planning to intern in DC that summer, where Yesuto had been living and working for a year. They exchanged information and then proceeded to never hang out. One year later, in the spring of 2017, Yesuto visited Harvard again for Obasi's graduation. He ran into his Facebook friend, Diana, and they both commented on their missed opportunity of hanging out in DC the prior summer. Lo and behold, she was on her way back to DC for another summer internship! At a party during graduation weekend, Yesuto asked Diana to salsa dance with him. He was so impressed with her dance moves and her fun-loving spirit that he insisted they actually hang out in DC over the summer this time. And they never talked again. Just kidding! Early in the summer, Yesuto reached out to see if Diana wanted to get brunch one weekend. Diana started the brunch thinking it would be great to catch up with her friend's brother, while, unbeknownst to her, Yesuto quickly wished it was a first date. At the end of the brunch, Yesuto said he had a great time and was impressed that they had talked for two hours. Diana quickly dismissed it and said she did that all the time (she doesn't know to this day why she said that). But then the tables turned. About a week later, Diana went to Yesuto’s birthday party, where Yesuto was such a great host that he didn’t give Diana any special attention. So Diana thought he wasn’t interested and was glad to have at least made some great new friends. Thankfully, it was clear to both of them the next time they hung out that there was chemistry. They quickly became inseparable, spending endless hours talking about life, religion, and philosophy, as Yesuto bought Diana's love with much sushi. And so began the beautiful relationship you know and love. ;)
Having begun their relationship shortly after Yesuto's birthday in 2017, Yesuto decided that their two-year anniversary would be a good time to change things up a bit. Knowing Diana loved surprises, but also knowing that they had gone ring shopping together, he found a way to pop the question at a time when she would least expect it--while falling out of the sky.
