Maid of Honor
Destinee and Neeli met on the very first day of law school in Savannah, Georgia. When I first "heard" Neeli--I was like no way this peppy high-strung girl is gonna be in class with me, but first impressions aren't everything. I knew Neeli was going to be my best friend the second she raised her hand during orientation and stood up to ask whether T-Shirts were an acceptable garment choice for law students. We grew close over the next few years--some would say inseparable, and affectionately became known as Tweedle Dee and Tweedle Dum around law school. I have gone through a lot of highs and a lot of lows through my relationship with Neeli, but we've always had each others' back and I am so happy she is going to be by my side on my wedding day.
Maid of Honor
Cecillia is Destinee's first cousin on her mother's side whom Destinee often refers to as her sister. What can I say about CeCe!?! When CeCe was first born I was upset I was no longer the only girl in the family, but then I realized I have a built-in best friend for life. We've grown up together from playing Barbies, dress-up, and mermaids to helping each other with the day-to-days trials and tribulations of adult life. I talk to CeCe just about every single day and I am proud of the woman she's grown to become. She is so caring and giving as a person, which made her an easy choice as a maid of honor.
Matron of Honor
Stacy is Destinee's longest best-friendship. They met Destinee's freshman year of high school running on the track during cheerleading tryouts. Oh my gosh! I absolutely adore Stacy! She is the realest, most fun, and true person you will ever meet. I always tell people that we met through cheerleading but we became best friends because the same guy both asked us to prom. When we found out, we both dumped him and went with each other instead. I basically lived with her in high school and we were always looking for new and innovative ways to get into trouble without actually getting into trouble. I stood by her side in her wedding, so it's only fitting she'll stand by mine now. I love you Stace-Face!
Bridesmaid
Taylor is Destinee's first cousin on her father's side. I remember seeing Taylor for the very first time all swaddled up in Vermont--she was so peaceful. . . and then she grew up. Taylor and I were raised together in the creeks and mountains of Southern Vermont. Every summer, I would go up and live with her. Even then Tay and I would put our Grandma's dog, Chewy, in a basket and pretend he was our little baby, She was a brat! But so was I. Somehow we still remain super close. As we've gotten older, we've realized how alike we are--even if those traits are the not so desirable ones. . . but I am so happy she is going to stand by my side.
Bridesmaid
Erica and Destinee met the first week of law school in Savannah, Georgia. When I first met Erica we initially, tried to form a study group together. We quickly realized though that our strong alpha female personalities would never allow that. That didn't deter us from being friends though! Erica lived over an hour from the law school; so, often stayed with me over weekends and summer in the city. That's when we really grew close--that or all our dancing at clubs. Erica often gave me big sister advice that can be a little too brutally honest at times. . . but that's just another reason why I love her. I am ecstatic she'll be there when I say "I do!"
Bridesmaid
Destinee and Erin met in the summer of 2018, by happenstance in Ann Arbor, Michigan. I am soo lucky to have found Erin. I was sitting by my porch drinking white wine and eating a popsicle one day after work, when some neighbors just randomly asked me to walk with them to the pub for a couple drinks. When we got to the pub, Erin joined our table and it was instant-friends. She invited me over for wine that week (shout out to my WineClerb gals) and the rest is history! Erin was my best friend while I was in Michigan--and the gal who had my back when I first met Aaron! I'm glad she'll be by our side on June 2022!
Bridesmaid
Destinee (aka D-Kween aka D-1) and Destiny (aka D-Boss aka D-2) met in law school. Gosh, I remember looking at Destiny the first time and thinking "what a cowgirl--who wears red cowgirl boots to law school orientation?" Turns out I love this cowgirl! Destiny was really shy at first, but I completely pressured her into being my friend. See, the trick to being friends with Destiny is being relentless and forcing her to hang out. Once she opens up her heart to you, she's lovely, honest, and loyal. I feel like we've done lots of shenanigans and share so many memories. Destiny is my habitually late friend--but I've forbidden her from being late to the wedding! I'm glad you'll be by my side D!
Officiant and Groomsman
In an alternate universe, Everett and Aaron would be the ones getting married. It was November in South Carolina. As the night comes to a close they lie in bed together, Everett carefully pouring trail mix into Aaron's mouth as they both giggled like little girls. Life was perfect. Everett and I met at SUNY Fredonia through my Freshman roommate and I instantly knew we would be friends. Despite never living in the same city, we've managed to stay close and see each other whenever we can. After introducing him to Destinee, we both feel it's really fitting that he be the one to tie us together for life. Everett is wonderful human being, a great friend, and bona-fide baller.
Best Man
Max and Aaron have the weirdest friendship you'll ever see. In undergrad, we we lived together for 3 years, won two state club volleyball titles, competed in business plan competitions, and did pretty much everything together. Post-undergrad, he invited me to live with him in Michigan and start the next chapter of my life. He supported me as I tried to get a job, culminating in us buying a house together and receiving our graduate degrees. Max is the type of friend that always wants the best for you and will do anything in his power to support you. We've been through a lot together as friends and it's an honor to have him as my best man.
Best Man
Adrian and Aaron met in undergrad and have stayed in touch through gaming. Adrian and I met our Freshman year of college. We were both studying Economics and spent many nights playing frisbee, football, and video games. After undergrad, Adrian and I cycled 750 miles around Taiwan in the middle of Summer. On the trip, we cycled up Taroko Gorge, a 10,000 ft elevation gain in 50 miles, while hauling 50 lbs of gear. Not many people are willing to do one of the hardest cycling climbs in the world but I'm glad I found one of them. Since then, we have stayed in touch through gaming. Adrian has always acted as a voice of reason and understanding and I'm really happy he is a part of my wedding party.
Groomsman
Garrett and Aaron met through mutual friends in New Orleans and instantly connected. Garrett is one of the nicest people I have ever met and is pretty much down for anything. We went golfing one time, without checking the weather forecast, on the second hole the skies opened up and it started pouring. We stopped for a second, looked at each other, shrugged, and played on. A few holes later in a severe thunderstorm, a course employee informed us we had to stop for safety reasons. After the employee drove off, we looked around and finished the hole. What should have been a miserable day of golf was an absolute blast. You will be pressed to find someone as caring, generous, and kind as Garrett and my only regret is not meeting him sooner. I'm happy he'll be by my side.
Groomsman
Seth is Destinee's older brother. Seth and I are super close. I talk to him almost every single day. We know things about each other that sisters and brothers probably shouldn't know, but its because we've learn to become friends. Growing up, Seth and I didn't always have it easy, but we always had each other. From sharing a bedroom to sharing friends, we were bound to each other. In high school, I am all but certain he did not like me. . . but sibling rivalries, what are you going to do? As we've gotten older, we've only continued to grow closer. I'm glad Aaron saw our relationship and thought to ask Seth to stand by our side on our wedding day.
Groomsman
Nick and Aaron met through Max and bonded over 7,500 mile road trips across the country. Nick is the type of friend that will fly across the country just so he can drive back with you. In fact, the first time spending real time with Nick was on a week-long road trip. He was willing to sleep in his car in a Walmart parking lot so I knew we were going to get along. We've probably seen 40 states together and have slept in some very questionable places. Nick has always been there to lend a listening ear to help me work through some tough times and it's a pleasure to have him in my wedding party.
Ring Bearer/ Junior Groomsman
Gunnar is Destinee's little brother. Aww, my G-Man. I was 14 years old when Gunnar was born. I remember thinking how cute he was. I loved him so much from the moment he was born--and that has only grown ten-fold with every day he gets older. He's becoming such a fine young man, even when he is a pain in my butt! Gunnar has a gentle soul and vibrant light about him. Thank you G for being part of my special day!
