Aaron and Destinee met in graduate school at the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor. Destinee had to cancel the first date with Aaron a couple of times (silly Delilah and WineClerb gals). On their third attempt to link up, the waterlines in Aaron’s house burst and his room was flooding, but he decided meeting Destinee was the priority. By their second date, they were buckling up pumpkins in Aaron’s truck, carving jack-o-lanterns, and clinking glasses of warmed apple cider. Although Destinee questioned Aaron pushing her up front at the haunted house, she knew he was the one when her car broke down and he decided to walk home with her, help her figure out a car solution, and gave her a ride to class the following Monday.
Aaron and Destinee got engaged overlooking the Grand Tetons. After hiking a strenuous couple miles in 12° weather, they found themselves at Grand View Point taking in the splendor of the mountains and the beauty of their reflection off Lake Jackson. As Destinee was chasing grouse around with her camera, Aaron told her that he wanted to capture a couple pictures from the lookout. Destinee playfully snapped a couple photos, when Aaron told her to look out towards the mountains to take in the grandeur and serenity. After staring off for a couple of minutes or so he called her name--"Destinee", when she turned around he was not taking photos but rather kneeling down on one knee asking her to marry him. Her response--"Did you ask my Dad?", and then “Of course”, “Yes”, “Obviously”
