Will COVID safety guidelines be in place?

Answer

Update: In light of COVID-19, we wanted to let you know our wedding is going forward as planned. If you’re no longer able to attend, we understand entirely. You can update your RSVP anytime through your personal invitation link. We request that any non-vaccinated guests receive a COVID test within a 72-hour window of attending our wedding and email your test results to our wedding planner, Tammy, at tlturner@essentiallyelegantevents.com prior to the event. The ceremony will take place outdoors, and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor space to enjoy dinner and horse racing. We will take full advantage of both spaces. Multiple sanitizing stations will be available around the venue, and masks will be available as well. We will adhere to our venue’s COVID-safe policy while indoors in all public spaces. As much as we would love to celebrate with you, we trust that you will decide not to attend if you are feeling sick. (There is always time to celebrate in the future.)

Will the wedding be hosted indoors or outdoors?

Answer

As an additional safety measure, we have opted to plan an outdoor ceremony and both indoor and outdoor options are available during the reception. Rest assured our venue has plenty of space to move around!

Can I bring a plus one?

Answer

Due to Covid restrictions and space limitations, we ask that you not bring any additional guests outside of the number submitted through the RSVP from your invitation. We appreciate your support and understanding.

To allow all guests to relax and enjoy themselves, we have chosen to make our special day for adults only.

Where is Lone Star Park?

Answer

Lone Star Park is just 1/2 mile north of I-30 on Beltline Road at 1000 Lone Star Parkway, Grand Prairie, TX 75050. It is located 12.5 miles (15-minute drive) from downtown Dallas. From the Dallas area travel westbound on Interstate 30 and exit Belt Line Road Northbound. Proceed 1/4 mile and turn right on Lone Star Parkway to access Gate 4 for preferred parking, Gate 5 for valet parking, or continue on to Belt Line Road to Gate 1 for general parking.

How much are the parking fees?

Valet Parking ($15), turn into Gate 5 Preferred Parking ($5), turn into Gate 4 General Parking (Free), turn into Gate 1 Travel Westbound on Interstate 30, exit Belt Line Road Northbound. Proceed 1/4 mile and turn right on Lone Star Parkway to access your preferred parking.

Do I need a ticket to enter?

Yes, tickets will be provided to RSVP'd guests only.

Where do I enter the venue?

Guests should enter the East Grandstand gate located by the valet parking circle.

Where do I go once inside the venue?

Answer

The ceremony and reception will be located in the Dash for Cash event space which is located on the first level. Lone Star Park staff will be available to direct you if needed.

What is the dress attire?

How many races will there be?

Answer

There will be a total of 9-12 races. The first race begins at 6:05 pm and the final race begins at 10:30 pm. You are invited to enjoy each race from our private event space that includes indoor and outdoor options. Prior to the racing, a handicapper will present an exciting live course on placing wagers. Betting/waging stations will also be located in the event space.

What is a handicapper?

Answer

A handicapper is a person who predicts the winners in a contest (such as in a horse race).

What is required to bet on horse racing?

Answer

The minimum age to wager is 21 years old, and all wagers must be made with cash (no credit card). ATMs are available in various locations. Note that ATMs will not allow cash advance from credit cards (debit cards only).

Are there any prohibited items?

At no time are the following items permitted: outside beverages, firearms, mock weapons, and confetti.

How do I change or update my RSVP?

Answer

If you’re no longer able to attend or need to make any changes to your RSVP, you can update your RSVP anytime through your personal invitation link that was emailed to you.

Are there room rates at the suggested hotels?

Answer

Given everyone's unique lodging needs and taking in the large variety of costs, we did not secure room rates for guests. What we curated is a range of styles and price ranges that represented the Dallas area. These are only suggestions. You are welcome to book any hotel that you choose. For those looking for a fun vibe hotel, CANVAS Hotel is the scene for that. NOTE: The largest FanExpo Convention is in town at the Kay Bailey Hutchison Convention Center during the same weekend as our wedding. Please reserve your hotel as early as possible as room rates will begin to increase in cost and become unavailable.
