Remember the Alamo! Or at least the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema. We often go here for date night. A great cinema chain with recliner seats and a full menu that you can order from during the movies (oh, and Tuesdays are $7 movie night).
A lovely place to take a stroll and smell some roses.
Fantastic museum. Definitely worth a visit if you can.
A great art museum near downtown Dallas, and daily admission is free.
A good place to see some meerkats and okapis. Oh, and did we mention there's a baby hippo?
One of our favorite places to wander around and look at both new and used books! If you are able to make your way here, we also recommend stopping by Black Forest Cafe inside the store for a slice of cake.
If the weather is good and you want to stretch your legs, the Katy Trail is a good way to do just that!
A very cool museum to check out if you have the time.
Another favorite coffee place - we highly recommend the brown butter hazelnut latte (iced of course).
A fun coffee shop with a good aesthetic and even better coffee. Our favorites include the Lavender Bloom and the Milk and Honey Latte.
Coffee here is always 10/10.
The BEST gelato. Highly recommend. Go and try all the flavors, you won't regret it.
The first craft brewery in Dallas - a great place to try some of the most popular local beers!
One of our favorite bars and places in general for happy hour (4-7 pm Weds-Fri), cocktails, brunch, etc.
One of our favorite spots around town, and especially for happy hour (2-6 PM weekdays)! We recommend the wonton chips and dips and the chicken kaarage paired with a frozen mango sake.
One of the best breweries in town, and it's only a mile away from the wedding venue!
When you eat here, you will say "ahhh yes, I am definitely in Texas" and you will enjoy every bite of it.
The best donut shop around! Our favorite is the brown butter and salt cake donut (p.s. if you can't make it hear, don't fret. A certain bride and groom may be catering from The Salty instead of traditional cake).
This place is a MUST visit. So good. We always opt for the grilled pork bahn mi or the chicken curry. Pair these with one of their iced coffees or the strawberry hibiscus lemonade and you will be in HEAVEN.
A Guatemalan bakery with great empanadas and baked goods if you are in the mood for a little treat!
Our favorite spot for brunch - get the Showbird and a carafe of their mimosas, you won't regret it!
A great place for street tacos and some fantastic margaritas.
You can't go to Texas and NOT get BBQ, and Terry Blacks has some of the best in town. And of course, get the brisket.
A Texas classic. This is one of our faves for bougie tacos (our favorite is the baja shrimp and the democrat), and in our opinion, the best queso in town.
A chill place to grab a cheap drink! They also often have food trucks and live music.
Fantastic local spot for ramen (our favorite is the Dry Garlic).
The best croissants we've come across outside of Paris! You can't go wrong with any of them (although Dawson has an affinity for the jalapeno bacon cheddar one, while Nicolette often dreams of their chocolate almond croissant).
