Well - it has been a whirlwind, hasn't it! If you don't know already, Dave and Sam tied the knot on December 16, 2020 after multiple cancellations. The wedding was incredible - and made even more special by the incredible Meagan, who was able to completely surprise Sam with a dream ceremony at the NC Watercraft Center in Beaufort, N.C. Surrounded by Manda, Jonathan and Dave's Mom, the pair tied the knot in a very intimated ceremony, followed by a tiny reception at Beaufort Grocery Company. Now that the world is opening back up, we invite you to join us on November 6, 2021 for a party to celebrate the couple. We hope you will be able to join us for this exciting party!

The coronavirus has thrown a wrench in the entire world's plans, and it probably comes as no surprise that we have made the heartbreaking decision to postpone our wedding celebration until further notice. This was not an easy decision to come by, but the health and safety of our family and friends is top priority and we would never be able to forgive ourselves if we put you in harms way. HOWEVER, a pandemic is not going to stop the two of us from getting married and certainly not from celebrating with our closest friends and family. We are in the process of working with the Watercraft Center for a new date, so we are kindly asking you to save the date - we just aren't quite sure what date that is. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused you and we appreciate your understanding. We hope to be in touch soon with a new date.
We met at City Kitchen in Chapel Hill. Dave was at the bar with a good friend and Sam came to meet a good friend and there was one seat... so she sat down and they started talking. From there, we slowly started dating and it became increasingly serious after Sam got Lucy, the oldest of our two dogs. We've been dating for five years and have been through a lot of ups and downs together - and with each challenge that we have faced, we have come out of it stronger and closer as a couple. Dave proposed in June at Old Faithful while on a Perry family vacation out west.
Beaufort, NC has a special place in our heart. Even before we met, it was special to each of us individually and as we have grown as a couple, it has become our home and our happy place. Before they were together, Sam would drive to Morehead City to go diving and Dave would stay at his friends house each summer and fish out of Beaufort. When Dave brought Sam for the first time, as they left, she said "I am going to buy a house here one day." Fast forward and they were looking for a place to rent for the week of July 4, and Sam "accidentally" found the house and the rest is history. We have built friendships with our neighbors and we love the slow southern community and the charm of this hidden gem in Eastern, NC. Beaufort is where we want to be full time in the near future.
