We have booked a block of rooms at Quinta Real Oaxaca. The room block will go from Friday to Sunday (3-5 Nov 2023), but the hotel will honor our special rate up until Monday. Guests can extend their stay earlier/later directly with the hotel (pending availability). Email the specified contact and mention "Yulissa & Daniel's Wedding" to reserve a room using our discounted rate. October 2, 2023, is the last day to book a room with our hotel using our special rate. If you wish to cancel your hotel stay, you must do so 25 days before your scheduled check-in date to avoid fees. There are various rooms available (can view on the website). 4 different room types include a king bed or (2) double beds. Rooms with double beds will only accommodate up to (3) adults or (2) adults and (2) children. If rooms become unavailable or you desire to stay elsewhere, please see other available hotel options below. Templo de Santo Domingo is walking distance from accommodations, Dia de Muertos festivities and other amenities (e.g. restaurants, bars, cafes, markets, etc). We recommend to use Templo de Santo Domingo as a landmark for planning purposes.

Flights

Fly into Xoxocotlán International Airport (OAX), located ~20 minutes south of Oaxaca City. Volaris Airlines has one of the few cost-effective, direct flights from Los Angeles (LAX) to OAX. There are also direct flights from Dallas (American Airlines) and Houston (United Airlines). Most flights will have a layover in Mexico City. If possible, it is recommended to transfer to the US instead of Mexico City. Please allow extra time for customs and passport control in Mexico City. As of now, Volaris only has direct flights to Oaxaca on 10/30, 11/01, and 11/03.

Airport Transportation

The airport taxi service is very safe and reliable. After you’ve picked up your luggage and have cleared customs, look for a vendor booth on the right-hand side that says "TAXI" (near the airport exit doors). The Taxi service provides $5/person group shuttles (Collectivo - Zona 1) and $15-$20 individual taxis (Especial - Zona 1) to Downtown Oaxaca. Due to peak season, it is likely that only group (shared) shuttles are available. After paying for the taxi service, exit the airport doors, look to your right, cross the street, and find the shuttles/taxis on the left-hand side (drivers wear matching clothes). Present receipt to the driver and give final destination. Refer to website below for more details.
