You are cordially invited to our upcoming wedding in Oaxaca (pronounced wa-ha-kah), Mexico! Although not required, we highly recommend flying in early to enjoy "Dia de Muertos," which translates to "Day of the Dead." While somewhat unknown to Americans, Oaxaca is one of the best travel destinations in the world. While Dia de Muertos is celebrated primarily on November 1st & 2nd, we learned that the festivities start on October 31st this past year. If you RSVP, please book your hotel room as soon as possible. One summer evening, Dan was with his friend (Carlos) and decided to go get food & drinks at Baja Sharkeez in Hermosa Beach, CA. Looking across the bar, he made eye contact with Yulissa, who was with her friend (Denisse). Dan walked over to them and introduced himself and Carlos. He was able to exchange phone numbers and later followed up to go on their first date. It was a match made in heaven from that point on…

With many family and friends present, Dan proposed to Yulissa at Baja Sharkeez, where they met almost 5 years earlier! Before this day, Dan had known for a long time he wanted to marry Yulissa, but he decided to wait until Yulissa’s graduation day (from CSU Dominguez Hills).
